ਭ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟਾਚਾਰ ਮਾਮਲਿਆਂ 'ਚ ਸ਼ੇਖ ਹਸੀਨਾ, ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸਜੀਬ ਤੇ ਹੋਰਾਂ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਗ੍ਰਿਫ਼ਤਾਰੀ ਵਾਰੰਟ ਜਾਰੀ
ਬੰਗਲਾਦੇਸ਼ ਦੀ ਇਕ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਅਦਾਲਤ ਨੇ ਸਾਬਕਾ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਸ਼ੇਖ ਹਸੀਨਾ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਕਈ ਰਿਸ਼ਤੇਦਾਰਾਂ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਭ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟਾਚਾਰ ਮਾਮਲਿਆਂ 'ਚ ਗ੍ਰਿਫ਼ਤਾਰੀ ਵਾਰੰਟ ਜਾਰੀ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ। ਦੋਸ਼ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਪੂਰਬਾਚਲ ਨਿਊ ਟਾਊਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਾਜਾਇਜ਼ ਤਰੀਕੇ ਨਾਲ ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਹਾਸਲ ਕੀਤੀ। ਅਦਾਲਤ ਨੇ 29 ਅਪਰੈਲ ਤੱਕ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਰਿਪੋਰਟ ਮੰਗੀ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਮਾਮਲਾ ਬੰਗਲਾਦੇਸ਼ ਦੀ ਰਾਜਨੀਤਿਕ ਹਲਚਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਵਾਂ ਮੋੜ ਲੈ ਆਇਆ ਹੈ।
ਬੰਗਲਾਦੇਸ਼ ਦੀ ਰਾਜਧਾਨੀ ਢਾਕਾ ਦੀ ਇਕ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਅਦਾਲਤ ਨੇ ਭਾਰਤ ਵਿਚ ਚਰਚਿਤ ਆਵਾਮੀ ਲੀਗ ਦੀ ਨੇਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਬਕਾ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਸ਼ੇਖ ਹਸੀਨਾ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸਜੀਬ ਵਾਜੇਦ ਜੋ ਕਿ ਡਿਜਿਟਲ ਬੰਗਲਾਦੇਸ਼ ਪ੍ਰੋਜੈਕਟ ਦੇ ਆਰਕੀਟੈਕਟ ਮੰਨੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਅਤੇ 16 ਹੋਰਾਂ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਭਾਰੀ ਭ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟਾਚਾਰ ਦੇ ਦੋ ਮਾਮਲਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਗ੍ਰਿਫ਼ਤਾਰੀ ਵਾਰੰਟ ਜਾਰੀ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਹਨ।
ਇਹ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਢਾਕਾ ਮੈਟਰੋਪੋਲੀਟਨ ਸੀਨੀਅਰ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਜੱਜ ਜ਼ਾਕਿਰ ਹੁਸੈਨ ਦੀ ਅਦਾਲਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਚੱਲ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ, ਜਿਥੇ ਭ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟਾਚਾਰ ਵਿਰੋਧੀ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨ (ACC) ਵੱਲੋਂ ਦਾਅਵਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਪੂਰਬਾਚਲ ਨਿਊ ਟਾਊਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਜੈਕਟ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਾਇਸ਼ੀ ਪਲਾਟਾਂ ਦੀ ਅਲਾਟਮੈਂਟ ਵਿਚ ਨਾਜਾਇਜ਼ ਤਰੀਕਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ 60 ਕੱਠੇ ਜ਼ਮੀਨ (ਕਰੀਬ 1.86 ਏਕੜ) ਪਰਿਵਾਰਕ ਤਾਕਤ ਅਤੇ ਰਾਜਨੀਤਿਕ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ ਨਾਲ ਹਾਸਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ।
ਵਾਰੰਟ ਜਾਰੀ ਹੋਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਹੋਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਸੀਨਾ ਦੀ ਧੀ ਸਾਇਮਾ ਵਾਜੇਦ, ਭੈਣ ਸ਼ੇਖ ਰੇਹਾਨਾ, ਬਰਤਾਨਵੀ ਸੰਸਦ ਮੈਂਬਰ ਟਿਊਲਿਪ ਸੱਦੀਕ, ਅਤੇ ਰੇਹਾਨਾ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਰਦਵਾਨ ਸਿੱਧੀਕ ਵੀ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹਨ। ਇਹਨਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਦੋਸ਼ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਰਾਜਨੀਤਿਕ ਤਾਕਤ ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਕਰਕੇ ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਪਲਾਟ ਨਾਜਾਇਜ਼ ਤਰੀਕੇ ਨਾਲ ਹਾਸਲ ਕੀਤੇ।
ਅਦਾਲਤ ਨੇ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਹੁਕਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਜੇ ਇਹ ਮੁਲਜ਼ਮ ਦੇਸ਼ ਛੱਡ ਚੁੱਕੇ ਹਨ, ਤਾਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਗ੍ਰਿਫ਼ਤਾਰ ਕਰਕੇ 29 ਅਪਰੈਲ ਤੱਕ ਅਦਾਲਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਿਪੋਰਟ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਵੇ। ACC ਨੇ ਇਹ ਵੀ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾਤਰ ਮੁਲਜ਼ਮ ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀ ਹਨ ਜੋ ਕਿ ਹੁਣ ਭਗੌੜੇ ਹਨ।
ਇਹ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਬੰਗਲਾਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿਚ ਸਿਆਸੀ ਤਣਾਅ ਅਤੇ ਰਾਜਨੀਤਿਕ ਹਲਚਲ ਦਾ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਬਣੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ, ਜਿੱਥੇ ਹਸੀਨਾ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਤੇ ਅਕਸਰ ਵਿਰੋਧੀ ਧਿਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਭ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟਾਚਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਤਾਕਤ ਦੇ ਦੁਰਪਯੋਗ ਦੇ ਦੋਸ਼ ਲਗਾਏ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
A special court in Dhaka, Bangladesh has issued arrest warrants against former Prime Minister and Awami League leader Sheikh Hasina, her son Sajeeb Wazed—known as the architect of the Digital Bangladesh project—and 16 others in two major corruption cases.
These cases, currently under trial in the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Zakir Hossain, stem from allegations by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) of Bangladesh. It claims that approximately 1.86 acres of land (60 kathas) in the Purbachal New Town project were illegally acquired using political influence and family power.
Those also named in the warrant include Hasina’s daughter Saima Wazed, her sister Sheikh Rehana, British MP Tulip Rizwana Siddiq, and Rehana’s son Radwan Mujib Siddiq. The allegations state that these individuals misused their political standing to obtain government housing plots unlawfully.
The court has instructed police authorities to arrest all named accused, including those who may have already left the country, and submit a report by April 29. The ACC notes that most of the accused were former government officials and are currently absconding.
These developments add fuel to the ongoing political unrest in Bangladesh, where the Sheikh Hasina-led government frequently faces criticism from the opposition over corruption and alleged misuse of power.
