ਲੱਦਾਖ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਾਤਾਵਰਨ ਕਾਰਕੁਨ ਸੋਨਮ ਵਾਂਗਚੁਕ ਗ੍ਰਿਫ਼ਤਾਰ
ਲੱਦਾਖ ਦੇ ਲੇਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਿੰਸਕ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਚਾਰ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਦੋ ਦਿਨ ਬਾਅਦ ਵਾਤਾਵਰਨ ਕਾਰਕੁਨ ਸੋਨਮ ਵਾਂਗਚੁਕ ਨੂੰ ਗ੍ਰਿਫ਼ਤਾਰ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਗਿਆ, ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਛੇਵੀਂ ਸ਼ੈਡਿਊਲ ਅਤੇ ਰਾਜ ਦੇ ਦਰਜੇ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰੈਸ ਕਾਨਫਰੰਸ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਸਨ। ਵਾਂਗਚੁਕ 35 ਦਿਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਭੁੱਖ ਹੜਤਾਲ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਹੀ ਗ੍ਰਿਫ਼ਤਾਰ ਹੋਏ, ਜਦਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਨੇ ਘਰ ਤਬਾਹ ਕਰਨ ਅਤੇ ਝੂਠੇ ਇਲਜ਼ਾਮ ਲਗਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਿਕਾਇਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ। ਲੇਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਰਫਿਊ ਅਤੇ ਇੰਟਰਨੈੱਟ ਬੰਦ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਅੰਦੋਲਨ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਾਂਤਮਈ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
ਲੱਦਾਖ ਦੇ ਲੇਹ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਿੰਸਕ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਚਾਰ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਮਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਦੋ ਦਿਨ ਬਾਅਦ ਵਾਤਾਵਰਨ ਕਾਰਕੁਨ ਸੋਨਮ ਵਾਂਗਚੁਕ ਨੂੰ ਗ੍ਰਿਫ਼ਤਾਰ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਲੇਹ ਐਪੈਕਸ ਬਾਡੀ (LAB) ਦੇ ਮੈਂਬਰ ਚੇਰਿੰਗ ਦੋਰਜੇ ਲਾਕਰੂਕ ਨੇ ਗ੍ਰਿਫ਼ਤਾਰੀ ਦੀ ਪੁਸ਼ਟੀ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਬੁਰੀ ਘਟਨਾ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਗ੍ਰਿਫ਼ਤਾਰੀ ਅੱਜ ਦੁਪਹਿਰ ਨੂੰ ਲੇਹ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੋਈ, ਜਦੋਂ LAB ਦੇ ਲੋਕ, ਜੋ ਲਗਭਗ ਚਾਰ ਸਾਲਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਲੱਦਾਖ ਲਈ ਛੇਵੀਂ ਸ਼ੈਡਿਊਲ ਅਤੇ ਰਾਜ ਦਾ ਦਰਜਾ ਮੰਗ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ, ਇੱਕ ਪ੍ਰੈਸ ਕਾਨਫਰੰਸ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਸਨ।
ਅੱਜ ਸਵੇਰੇ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ ਡਰ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਵਾਂਗਚੁਕ ਨੂੰ ਗ੍ਰਿਫ਼ਤਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ। ਬੁੱਧਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਹਿੰਸਕ ਵਿਰੋਧ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਨੌਜਵਾਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਇੱਕ ਗਰੁੱਪ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਲੇਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਾਜਪਾ ਦਫ਼ਤਰ ਅਤੇ ਹਿੱਲ ਕੌਂਸਲ ਦੀ ਇਮਾਰਤ ਨੂੰ ਅੱਗ ਲਗਾਉਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਵਾਤਾਵਰਨ ਕਾਰਕੁਨ ਨੂੰ ਗ੍ਰਿਫ਼ਤਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ, ਜਿਸ ਕਾਰਨ ਪੁਲੀਸ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਗੋਲੀਆਂ ਚਲਾਉਣੀਆਂ ਪਈਆਂ। ਵਾਂਗਚੁਕ 35 ਦਿਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਭੁੱਖ ਹੜਤਾਲ ਉੱਤੇ ਸਨ, ਜੋ ਕਿ ਲੇਹ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਿੰਸਾ ਹੋਣ ਤੋਂ ਤੁਰੰਤ ਬਾਅਦ ਖਤਮ ਹੋ ਗਈ। ਲੇਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਰਫਿਊ ਲੱਗਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਮੋਬਾਈਲ ਇੰਟਰਨੈੱਟ ਸੇਵਾਵਾਂ ਬੰਦ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ ਗਈਆਂ ਹਨ। ਲੱਦਾਖ ਪੁਲੀਸ ਨੇ ਕਈ ਐਫਆਈਆਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਜਿਸਟਰ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ 50 ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਦੰਗਾਈਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਗ੍ਰਿਫ਼ਤਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ। ਵਾਂਗਚੁਕ ਦੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਗਿਤਾਂਜਲੀ ਅੰਗਮੋ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਪੁਲੀਸ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਘਰ ਤਬਾਹ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਬਿਨਾਂ ਕਾਰਨ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਅਪਰਾਧੀ ਵਰਗਾ ਵਿਵਹਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਉੱਤੇ ਝੂਠੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਫੈਲਾਉਣ ਦਾ ਇਲਜ਼ਾਮ ਲਗਾਇਆ ਹੈ। ਐਪੈਕਸ ਬਾਡੀ ਲੇਹ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਅੰਦੋਲਨ ਸ਼ਾਂਤਮਈ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਵਾਂਗਚੁਕ ਨੇ ਹਿੰਸਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੋਈ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਲਿਆ। ਮੰਤਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਘਰੇਲੂ ਮਾਮਲਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਮੰਤਰਾਲੇ ਨੇ ਵਾਂਗਚੁਕ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਸਥਾਪਿਤ ਸੇਸਮੋਲ ਦੀ ਐਫਸੀਆਰਏ ਰਜਿਸਟ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਨ ਰੱਦ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਨੌਜਵਾਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹਿੰਸਾ ਲਈ ਉਕਸਾਉਣ ਦਾ ਦੋਸ਼ ਲਗਾਇਆ ਹੈ। ਪੁਲੀਸ ਨੇ ਅਜੇ ਤੱਕ ਅਧਿਕਾਰਤ ਤੌਰ ਉੱਤੇ ਘਟਨਾ ਦੀ ਪੁਸ਼ਟੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਗ੍ਰਿਫ਼ਤਾਰੀ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਵੀ ਕੁਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
In Leh district of Ladakh, environmental activist Sonam Wangchuk has been arrested two days after the death of four protesters during violent demonstrations. Leh Apex Body (LAB) member Chering Dorje Lakruk confirmed the arrest and called it a bad incident. This arrest took place this afternoon in Leh district, when LAB representatives, who have been demanding Sixth Schedule status and statehood for Ladakh for nearly four years, were about to hold a press conference.
There was fear since this morning that Wangchuk could be arrested. On Wednesday, the violent protest demonstration by a group of youth led to setting fire to the BJP office and the Hill Council building in Leh, forcing the police to open fire on the protesters. Wangchuk was on a 35-day hunger strike, which ended immediately after the violence in Leh city. A curfew is imposed in Leh and mobile internet services have been suspended. Ladakh police have registered several FIRs and arrested more than 50 rioters. Wangchuk's wife Gitanjali Angmo said that the police ransacked their house and treated him like a criminal without reason. She accused the government of spreading false narratives. Leh Apex Body has stated that their movement is peaceful and Wangchuk did not participate in the violence. The Ministry of Home Affairs has canceled the FCRA registration of SECMOL founded by Wangchuk and accused him of instigating youth to violence. The police has not yet officially confirmed the incident and has not said anything about the reasons for the arrest.
