ਟੋਲ ਸਟਾਫ਼ ਦੇ ਕਰਮਚਾਰੀ, ਕੁਲਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ, ਕਾਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੱਤ-ਅੱਠ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਸਵਾਰ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਕਾਰ ਲੁਧਿਆਣਾ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਾਸਿਓਂ ਆ ਕੇ ਫਿਲੌਰ ਵੱਲ ਜਾ ਰਹੀ ਸੀ। ਕਾਰ ਸਵਾਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਨੇ ਕਥਿਤ ਤੌਰ 'ਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦਾ ਚੇਅਰਮੈਨ ਦੱਸਿਆ। ਜਦੋਂ ਸਟਾਫ਼ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਦਾਅਵੇ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਬਤ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ID ਕਾਰਡ ਦਿਖਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਕਿਹਾ, ਤਾਂ ਸਮੂਹ ਗੁੱਸੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਆ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਟੋਲ ਸਟਾਫ਼ 'ਤੇ ਪੰਜ ਰਾਊਂਡ ਫਾਇਰ ਕੀਤੇ।
ਖੁਸ਼ਕਿਸਮਤੀ ਨਾਲ, ਟੋਲ ਸਟਾਫ਼ ਦੇ ਕਰਮਚਾਰੀ ਗੋਲੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਫ਼ਲ ਰਹੇ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਹਮਲਾਵਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਫੜਨ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਵੀ ਕੀਤੀ, ਪਰ ਮੁਲਜ਼ਮ ਆਪਣੀ ਕਾਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਾਊਥ ਸਿਟੀ ਪੁਲ ਵੱਲ ਭੱਜਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਾਮਯਾਬ ਹੋ ਗਏ। ਇਹ ਦਿਲ ਕੰਬਾਊ ਘਟਨਾ ਪੂਰੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ CCTV ਕੈਮਰਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੈਦ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਘਟਨਾ ਦੀ ਫੁਟੇਜ ਸੋਸ਼ਲ ਮੀਡੀਆ 'ਤੇ ਵਾਇਰਲ ਹੋ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ।

A sense of terror spread at the Ladowal Toll Plaza near Ludhiana last night when several car-borne miscreants opened fire directly at the Toll Staff. This alarming incident occurred after the accused forcefully demanded to pass through the VIP Lane.
According to Kuljit Singh, an employee of the Toll Staff, the car was carrying seven to eight people and was traveling from the Ludhiana side towards Phillaur. One of the car occupants allegedly identified himself as a Chairman of a government department. When the staff asked him to show his ID Card to substantiate his claim, the group became enraged and fired Five Shots at the Toll Staff employees.
Fortunately, the Toll Staff members managed to escape the bullets. They attempted to catch the assailants, but the accused successfully fled in their car toward the South City bridge. This chilling incident was completely captured by the CCTVcameras, and the footage has since gone viral on social media.
Upon receiving the complaint, the police immediately arrived at the scene and launched an investigation into the matter. The occurrence of such incidents in Punjab News clearly highlights the critical need to ensure the security of employees engaged in public services and to uphold Law and Order.
