ਕਰੂਰ ਭਗਦੜ: ਮ੍ਰਿਤਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਵਧ ਕੇ 40 ਹੋਈ
ਕਰੂਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਟੀ ਵੀ ਕੇ ਦੀ ਰੈਲੀ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਮਚੀ ਭਗਦੜ ਵਿੱਚ 40 ਵਿਅਕਤੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਮੌਤ ਹੋ ਗਈ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ 9 ਬੱਚੇ ਅਤੇ 17 ਔਰਤਾਂ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹਨ, ਜਦਕਿ 67 ਜ਼ਖ਼ਮੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਇਲਾਜ ਚੱਲ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਐੱਮ ਕੇ ਸਟਾਲਿਨ ਨੇ ਪੀੜਤਾਂ ਦਾ ਹਾਲ ਜਾਣਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਨਿਰਪੱਖ ਜਾਂਚ ਲਈ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨ ਬਣਾਇਆ, ਜਦਕਿ ਟੀ ਵੀ ਕੇ ਨੇ ਸੀਬੀਆਈ ਜਾਂਚ ਦੀ ਮੰਗ ਨਾਲ ਮਦਰਾਸ ਹਾਈ ਕੋਰਟ ਦਾ ਰੁਖ਼ ਕੀਤਾ। ਵਿਜੈ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਮੋਦੀ ਨੇ ਮ੍ਰਿਤਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਜ਼ਖ਼ਮੀਆਂ ਲਈ ਮੁਆਵਜ਼ੇ ਦਾ ਐਲਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ।
ਕਰੂਰ ਦੇ ਇੱਕ ਹਸਪਤਾਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਹੋਰ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਦੀ ਮੌਤ ਹੋਣ ਨਾਲ ਤਾਮਿਲਾਗਾ ਵੈਤਰੀ ਕੜਗਮ (ਟੀ ਵੀ ਕੇ) ਦੀ ਰੈਲੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਗਦੜ ਕਾਰਨ ਜਾਨ ਗੁਆਉਣ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ 40 ਤੱਕ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਗਈ ਹੈ। ਮਰਨ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ 9 ਬੱਚੇ ਅਤੇ 17 ਔਰਤਾਂ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹਨ। ਇਸ ਦੁਖਦਾਈ ਘਟਨਾ ਵਿੱਚ 67 ਹੋਰ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਜ਼ਖ਼ਮੀ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਹਸਪਤਾਲਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਲਾਜ ਅਧੀਨ ਹਨ। ਟੀ ਵੀ ਕੇ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਭਗਦੜ ਦੀ ਨਿਰਪੱਖ ਜਾਂਚ ਲਈ ਮਦਰਾਸ ਹਾਈ ਕੋਰਟ ਦੇ ਮਦੁਰਾਇ ਬੈਂਚ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਪੀਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸੀਬੀਆਈ ਜਾਂ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਜਾਂਚ ਟੀਮ ਤੋਂ ਜਾਂਚ ਦੀ ਮੰਗ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ।
ਤਾਮਿਲਨਾਡੂ ਦੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਐੱਮ ਕੇ ਸਟਾਲਿਨ ਨੇ ਕਰੂਰ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਕੇ ਮ੍ਰਿਤਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਮੁਲਾਕਾਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਦੁੱਖ ਸਾਂਝਾ ਕੀਤਾ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਹਸਪਤਾਲਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਜ਼ਖ਼ਮੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਹਾਲ ਜਾਣਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਡਾਕਟਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲਬਾਤ ਕਰਕੇ ਜ਼ਖ਼ਮੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਧੀਆ ਇਲਾਜ ਦੇਣ ਦਾ ਵਾਅਦਾ ਕੀਤਾ। ਤਾਮਿਲਨਾਡੂ ਦੇ ਉਪ ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਉਦੈਨਿਧੀ ਸਟਾਲਿਨ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਸੇਵਾਮੁਕਤ ਜੱਜ ਅਰੁਣਾ ਜਗਦੀਸ਼ਨ ਦੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਜਾਂਚ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨ ਅੱਜ ਕਰੂਰ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਸਟਾਲਿਨ ਇਸ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨ ਦੀ ਰਿਪੋਰਟ ਦੇ ਅਧਾਰ ਤੇ ਉਚਿਤ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਕਰਨਗੇ।
ਟੀ ਵੀ ਕੇ ਦੇ ਉਪ ਜਨਰਲ ਸਕੱਤਰ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਨੇ ਜਸਟਿਸ ਐੱਮ ਧੰਦਪਨੀ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਅਪੀਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ ਕਿ 27 ਸਤੰਬਰ ਨੂੰ ਕਰੂਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੋਈ ਰੈਲੀ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਭਗਦੜ ਕਾਰਨ 40 ਵਿਅਕਤੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਮੌਤ ਦੇ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਦੀ ਸੀਬੀਆਈ ਜਾਂ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਟੀਮ ਤੋਂ ਜਾਂਚ ਕਰਵਾਈ ਜਾਵੇ। ਜੱਜ ਨੇ ਵਕੀਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਦਰਾਸ ਹਾਈ ਕੋਰਟ ਦੇ ਮਦੁਰਾਇ ਬੈਂਚ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਟੀਸ਼ਨ ਦਾਇਰ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਸਲਾਹ ਦਿੱਤੀ, ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਸੁਣਵਾਈ ਸੋਮਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਦੁਪਹਿਰ 2:15 ਵਜੇ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ।
ਟੀ ਵੀ ਕੇ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਅਦਾਕਾਰ ਤੋਂ ਨੇਤਾ ਬਣੇ ਵਿਜੈ ਨੇ ਭਗਦੜ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾਨ ਗੁਆਉਣ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ 20-20 ਲੱਖ ਰੁਪਏ ਅਤੇ ਜ਼ਖ਼ਮੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ 2-2 ਲੱਖ ਰੁਪਏ ਮੁਆਵਜ਼ੇ ਦਾ ਐਲਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਘਟਨਾ ਤੇ ਡੂੰਘਾ ਦੁੱਖ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਕੀਤਾ। ਇਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ, ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਨਰਿੰਦਰ ਮੋਦੀ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਕੌਮੀ ਰਾਹਤ ਫੰਡ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਮ੍ਰਿਤਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ 2-2 ਲੱਖ ਰੁਪਏ ਅਤੇ ਜ਼ਖ਼ਮੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ 50,000 ਰੁਪਏ ਦੇਣ ਦਾ ਐਲਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ।
ਟੀ ਵੀ ਕੇ ਦੀ ਰੈਲੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਚੀ ਭਗਦੜ ਨੇ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਦੇ ਮੈਂਬਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੈਰਾਨ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ। ਪਾਰਟੀ ਨੂੰ ਰੈਲੀ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਰਾਬ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਾਂ ਕਾਰਨ ਤਿੱਖੀ ਆਲੋਚਨਾ ਦਾ ਸਾਹਮਣਾ ਕਰਨਾ ਪੈ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਸਾਬਕਾ ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਅੰਨਾ ਡੀਐੱਮਕੇ ਦੇ ਜਨਰਲ ਸਕੱਤਰ ਕੇ ਪਲਾਨੀਸਵਾਮੀ ਨੇ ਦਾਅਵਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਭਗਦੜ ਪੁਲੀਸ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਾਸਨ ਦੀ ਨਾਕਾਮੀ ਦਾ ਨਤੀਜਾ ਹੈ। ਹਾਲਾਂਕਿ, ਪੁਲੀਸ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਅਦਾਕਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਖਣ ਲਈ ਉਮੀਦ ਤੋਂ ਕਿਤੇ ਵੱਧ ਭੀੜ ਇਕੱਠੀ ਹੋ ਗਈ, ਜਿਸ ਕਾਰਨ ਹਾਲਾਤ ਕਾਬੂ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਹੋ ਗਏ। ਰੈਲੀ ਵਾਲੀ ਥਾਂ ਤੇ ਖਿੱਲਰੀਆਂ ਪਈਆਂ ਚੱਪਲਾਂ, ਜੁੱਤੀਆਂ, ਪਾਣੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਬੋਤਲਾਂ, ਪਾਰਟੀ ਦੇ ਪਾਟੇ ਹੋਏ ਝੰਡੇ ਅਤੇ ਕੂੜੇ ਦੇ ਢੇਰ ਇਸ ਦੁਖਦਾਈ ਘਟਨਾ ਦੀ ਯਾਦ ਦਿਵਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
The death toll in the stampede during a Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) rally in Karur rose to 40 after one more person died in a hospital. The deceased include 9 children and 17 women. In this tragic incident, 67 other individuals are injured and undergoing treatment in hospitals. TVK has approached the Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court, demanding an impartial CBI inquiry or a special team investigation into the Karur stampede.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin visited Karur to meet the families of the deceased and share their grief. He checked on the condition of the injured in hospitals, spoke with doctors, and assured the best possible treatment for the injured. Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin said a commission led by retired judge Aruna Jagadeesan is reaching Karur today to investigate the stampede. He added that Chief Minister Stalin will take appropriate action based on the commission’s report.
TVK’s Deputy General Secretary Nirmal Kumar said the party approached Justice M Dhandapani’s residence, requesting a CBI or special team inquiry into the stampede during the September 27 rally in Karur, which led to 40 deaths. The judge advised the lawyers to file a petition in the Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court, where a hearing is scheduled for Monday at 2:15 PM.
TVK President and actor-turned-politician Vijay announced a compensation of 20 lakh rupees for the families of those who lost their lives in the stampede and 2 lakh rupees for the injured. He expressed deep sorrow over the incident. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced 2 lakh rupees from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund for the families of the deceased and 50,000 rupees for the injured.
The stampede at the TVK rally has left the party members in shock. The party is facing sharp criticism from various quarters for alleged poor arrangements at the rally. Former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and Anna DMK General Secretary K Palaniswami claimed the stampede was a result of police and administrative failure. However, the police stated that the situation went out of control as a much larger crowd than expected gathered to see the actor. Scattered slippers, shoes, water bottles, torn party flags, and piles of debris at the rally site serve as a painful reminder of this tragic incident.
