ਹਰਿਆਣਾ ਪੁਲੀਸ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀ ਵਾਈ ਪੂਰਨ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਨੇ ਚੰਡੀਗੜ੍ਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਘਰ 'ਤੇ ਖੁਦ ਨੂੰ ਗੋਲੀ ਮਾਰ ਲਈ
ਹਰਿਆਣਾ ਦੇ ਏਡੀਜੀਪੀ ਵਾਈ ਪੂਰਨ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਨੇ ਚੰਡੀਗੜ੍ਹ ਦੇ ਸੈਕਟਰ 11 ਵਿਖੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਰਵਿਸ ਰਿਵਾਲਵਰ ਨਾਲ ਖੁਦ ਨੂੰ ਗੋਲੀ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਖੁਦਕੁਸ਼ੀ ਕਰ ਲਈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਅਮਨੀਤ ਪੀ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਜਾਪਾਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਨਾਲ ਵਫ਼ਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਜਾਂਚ ਜਾਰੀ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਕੋਈ ਨੋਟ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਿਆ। ਇਸ ਮੌਤ ਨੇ ਪੁਲੀਸ ਵਾਲੇ ਖੇਤਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਦਮਾ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
ਹਰਿਆਣਾ ਦੇ ਵਧੀਕ ਡਾਇਰੈਕਟਰ ਜਨਰਲ ਆਫ਼ ਪੁਲੀਸ (ਏਡੀਜੀਪੀ) ਵਾਈ ਪੂਰਨ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਮੰਗਲਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਡੀਗੜ੍ਹ ਦੇ ਸੈਕਟਰ 11 ਵਿਖੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਮ੍ਰਿਤਕ ਹਾਲਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਿਲੇ ਹਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਸਰਵਿਸ ਰਿਵਾਲਵਰ ਨਾਲ ਖੁਦ ਨੂੰ ਗੋਲੀ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਖੁਦਕੁਸ਼ੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ, ਅਜਿਹਾ ਸ਼ੱਕ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਘਟਨਾ ਦੁਪਹਿਰ ਲਗਭਗ 1:30 ਵਜੇ ਵਾਪਰੀ, ਜਦੋਂ ਪੁਲੀਸ ਨੂੰ ਸੂਚਨਾ ਮਿਲੀ। ਉਹ ਰੋਹਤਕ ਦੇ ਸੁਨਾਰੀਆ ਜੇਲ ਵਿਖੇ ਤਾਇਨਾਤ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ 2001 ਬੈਚ ਦੇ ਆਈਪੀਐਸ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀ ਸਨ।
ਪੁਲੀਸ ਟੀਮਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਫੋਰੈਂਸਿਕ ਮਾਹਿਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੌਕੇ ਤੇ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਜਾਂਚ ਜਾਰੀ ਹੈ। ਸੈਂਟਰਲ ਫੋਰੈਂਸਿਕ ਸਾਇੰਸ ਲੈਬਰੇਟਰੀ ਦੀ ਟੀਮ ਵੀ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਗਈ ਹੈ। ਘਟਨਾ ਸਮੇਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਅਮਨੀਤ ਪੀ ਕੁਮਾਰ, ਜੋ ਇੱਕ ਸੀਨੀਅਰ ਆਈਏਐਸ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀ ਹਨ, ਘਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ। ਉਹ ਹਰਿਆਣਾ ਦੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਨਾਇਬ ਸਿੰਘ ਸੈਣੀ ਦੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਵਾਲੇ ਅਧਿਕਾਰਤ ਵਫ਼ਦ ਨਾਲ ਜਾਪਾਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਬੁੱਧਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਵਾਪਸ ਆਉਣ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਧੀ ਨੇ ਬੇਸਮੈਂਟ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਾਸ਼ ਮਿਲਣ ਬਾਰੇ ਪੁਲੀਸ ਨੂੰ ਦੱਸਿਆ।
ਪੂਰਨ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਹਰਿਆਣਾ ਕੈਡਰ ਦੇ ਸਤਿਕਾਰਤ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਕਰੀਅਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਈ ਮਹੱਤਵਪੂਰਨ ਅਹੁਦਿਆਂ ਤੇ ਰਹੇ। ਉਹ ਅੰਬਾਲਾ ਅਤੇ ਰੋਹਤਕ ਰੇਂਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਈਜੀਪੀ ਵੀ ਰਹੇ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਮ ਗਾਰਡਜ਼, ਟੈਲੀਕਾਮ ਵਰਗੇ ਵਿਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੰਮ ਕੀਤਾ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਅਚਾਨਕ ਮੌਤ ਨੇ ਪੁਲੀਸ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਾਸਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਖੇਤਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਡਾ ਸਦਮਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ। ਜਾਂਚ ਵਿੱਚ ਖੁਦਕੁਸ਼ੀ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਨੋਟ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਅਜੇ ਪਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਚੱਲ ਸਕਿਆ ਹੈ।
Haryana's Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Y Puran Kumar was found dead in his Sector 11 home in Chandigarh on Tuesday. He allegedly shot himself with his service revolver, leading to suspicions of suicide by Haryana Police. The incident occurred around 1:30 pm, when police received the information. He was posted at Rohtak's Sunaria Jail and was a 2001-batch IPS officer.
Police teams and forensic experts have been sent to the scene, and the investigation is ongoing. The Central Forensic Science Laboratory team has also arrived. At the time of the incident, his wife Amneet P Kumar, a senior IAS officer, was not at home. She is in Japan with an official delegation led by Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini and is expected to return on Wednesday. His daughter informed the police after discovering the body in the basement.
Puran Kumar was a respected officer of the Haryana cadre and held several important positions in his career. He served as IGP in Ambala and Rohtak ranges and worked in departments like Home Guards and Telecom. His sudden death has shocked those working in the police and administrative sectors. No suicide note was found during the investigation, and the reason has not yet been determined.
