ਗੁਜਰਾਤ ATS ਨੇ ਅਲ-ਕਾਇਦਾ ਦੇ ਸੰਗਠਨ AQIS ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜੇ ਚਾਰ ਵਿਅਕਤੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਹਿਮਦਾਬਾਦ, ਦਿੱਲੀ, ਨੋਇਡਾ ਅਤੇ ਮੋਦਾਸਾ ਤੋਂ ਗ੍ਰਿਫਤਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ। ਇਹ ਲੋਕ ਸੋਸ਼ਲ ਮੀਡੀਆ ’ਤੇ ਅਤਿਵਾਦੀ ਸਮੱਗਰੀ ਫੈਲਾ ਕੇ ਨੌਜਵਾਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਰੈਡੀਕਲਾਈਜ਼ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ। ਜਾਂਚ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਅਤੇ ‘ਆਪ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਨ ਸਿੰਦੂਰ’ ਦੇ ਦਸਤਾਵੇਜ਼ ਮਿਲੇ। ਮਾਮਲਾ UAPA ਅਤੇ BNS ਅਧੀਨ ਦਰਜ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਜਾਰੀ ਹੈ।
ਗੁਜਰਾਤ ਪੁਲੀਸ ਦੇ ਅਤਿਵਾਦ ਵਿਰੋਧੀ ਦਸਤੇ (Gujarat Anti Terrorist Squad - ATS) ਨੇ ਪਾਬੰਦੀਸ਼ੁਦਾ ਅਤਿਵਾਦੀ ਸੰਗਠਨ ‘ਅਲ-ਕਾਇਦਾ ਇਨ ਦ ਇੰਡੀਅਨ ਸਬ-ਕੌਂਟੀਨੈਂਟ’ (Al-Qaeda in the Indian Subcontinent - AQIS) ਨਾਲ ਸਬੰਧ ਰੱਖਣ ਦੇ ਦੋਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਚਾਰ ਵਿਅਕਤੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਗ੍ਰਿਫਤਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ। ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਗ੍ਰਿਫਤਾਰੀਆਂ ਅਹਿਮਦਾਬਾਦ, ਦਿੱਲੀ, ਨੋਇਡਾ ਅਤੇ ਗੁਜਰਾਤ ਦੇ ਮੋਦਾਸਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਗਈਆਂ।
ਅਤਿਵਾਦ ਵਿਰੋਧੀ ਏਜੰਸੀ ਨੇ ਇੱਕ ਬਿਆਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਗੁਜਰਾਤ ATS ਨੇ AQIS ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜੇ ਅਤਿਵਾਦੀ ਮਾਡਿਊਲ ਦਾ ਪਰਦਾਫਾਸ਼ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ। ਪਾਬੰਦੀਸ਼ੁਦਾ ਅਤਿਵਾਦੀ ਸੰਗਠਨ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜੇ ਚਾਰ ਵਿਅਕਤੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਗ੍ਰਿਫਤਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।” ਗ੍ਰਿਫਤਾਰ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ ਵਿਅਕਤੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਪਛਾਣ ਮੁਹੰਮਦ ਫੈਕ (ਦਿੱਲੀ), ਮੁਹੰਮਦ ਫਰਦੀਨ (ਅਹਿਮਦਾਬਾਦ), ਸੈਫੁੱਲਾ ਕੁਰੈਸ਼ੀ (ਮੋਦਾਸਾ, ਗੁਜਰਾਤ) ਅਤੇ ਜ਼ੀਸ਼ਾਨ ਅਲੀ (ਨੋਇਡਾ, ਉੱਤਰ ਪ੍ਰਦੇਸ਼) ਵਜੋਂ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ।
ਗੁਜਰਾਤ ATS ਦੇ ਡੀਆਈਜੀ ਸੁਨੀਲ ਜੋਸ਼ੀ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ 10 ਜੂਨ 2025 ਨੂੰ ਪੰਜ ਇੰਸਟਾਗ੍ਰਾਮ ਅਕਾਊਂਟਸ ਬਾਰੇ ਸੂਚਨਾ ਮਿਲੀ ਸੀ, ਜੋ ਅਲ-ਕਾਇਦਾ ਦੀ ਵਿਚਾਰਧਾਰਾ ਅਤੇ ਭਾਰਤ ਵਿਰੋਧੀ ਸਮੱਗਰੀ ਫੈਲਾ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ। ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਅਕਾਊਂਟਸ ’ਤੇ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਰੱਖਣ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਟੈਕਨੀਕਲ ਟੀਮ ਬਣਾਈ ਗਈ। ਜੋਸ਼ੀ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਚਾਰੇ ਵਿਅਕਤੀਆਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀਆਂ ਸ਼ੱਕੀ ਸਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਡਿਜੀਟਲ ਅਤੇ ਸਰੀਰਕ ਨਿਗਰਾਨੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ, ਜਿਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਗ੍ਰਿਫਤਾਰੀਆਂ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਗਈਆਂ।”
ਫਰਦੀਨ ਸ਼ੇਖ ਦੇ ਕਬਜ਼ੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਅਲ-ਕਾਇਦਾ ਦੀ ਸਮੱਗਰੀ ਮਿਲੀ, ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ‘ਆਪ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਨ ਸਿੰਦੂਰ’ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜੇ ਦਸਤਾਵੇਜ਼ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਸਨ। ਇਹ ਸਮੱਗਰੀ ਭਾਰਤ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਵਿਰੋਧੀ ਅਤੇ ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨ ਸਮਰਥਕ ਸੀ। ਮੁਹੰਮਦ ਫੈਕ ਦੀ ਜਾਂਚ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਤਾ ਲੱਗਾ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨੀ ਇੰਸਟਾਗ੍ਰਾਮ ਅਕਾਊਂਟਸ ਨਾਲ ਸੰਪਰਕ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਜਿਹਾਦੀ ਸਮੱਗਰੀ ਸਾਂਝੀ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ। ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿਅਕਤੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਸੋਸ਼ਲ ਮੀਡੀਆ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਅਤਿਵਾਦੀ ਵਿਚਾਰਧਾਰਾ ਨੂੰ ਫੈਲਾਉਣ ਅਤੇ ਨੌਜਵਾਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਰੈਡੀਕਲਾਈਜ਼ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕੀਤੀ।
ਚਾਰੇ ਦੋਸ਼ੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਇੱਕ ਦੂਜੇ ਦੇ ਅਕਾਊਂਟਸ ਦੀ ਸਮੱਗਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਹੋਰ ਵੱਧ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਤੱਕ ਪਹੁੰਚਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਆਪਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਕੀਤਾ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਪੋਸਟਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਿਹਾਦ, ‘ਗਜ਼ਵਾ-ਏ-ਹਿੰਦ’ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਰੀਆ ਅਧਾਰਿਤ ਸ਼ਾਸਨ ਸਥਾਪਤ ਕਰਨ ਦੀਆਂ ਅਪੀਲਾਂ ਸਨ, ਜੋ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਲੋਕਤੰਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਖਤਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਾਉਣ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਸਨ। ATS ਨੇ 25 ਸੰਵੇਦਨਸ਼ੀਲ ਅਤੇ 62 ਸਬੰਧਤ ਇੰਸਟਾਗ੍ਰਾਮ ਅਕਾਊਂਟਸ ਦੀ ਜਾਂਚ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ।
ਦੋਸ਼ੀਆਂ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਅਨਲਾਫੁੱਲ ਐਕਟੀਵਿਟੀਜ਼ (ਪ੍ਰੀਵੈਂਸ਼ਨ) ਐਕਟ (UAPA) ਦੀਆਂ ਧਾਰਾਵਾਂ 13, 18, 38, ਅਤੇ 39 ਅਤੇ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਨਿਆਂ ਸੰਹਿਤਾ (BNS) ਦੀਆਂ ਧਾਰਾਵਾਂ 113, 152, ਅਤੇ 196 ਅਧੀਨ ਮਾਮਲਾ ਦਰਜ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਫਰਦੀਨ ਸ਼ੇਖ ਅਤੇ ਸੈਫੁੱਲਾ ਕੁਰੈਸ਼ੀ ਨੂੰ 14 ਦਿਨ ਦੀ ਰਿਮਾਂਡ ’ਤੇ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ, ਜਦਕਿ ਮੁਹੰਮਦ ਫੈਕ ਅਤੇ ਜ਼ੀਸ਼ਾਨ ਅਲੀ ਨੂੰ ਅਦਾਲਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।
ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ 2023 ਵਿੱਚ, ਅਹਿਮਦਾਬਾਦ ਦੇ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਹਿੱਸਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਚਾਰ ਬੰਗਲਾਦੇਸ਼ੀ ਨਾਗਰਿਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ AQIS ਨਾਲ ਸਬੰਧ ਰੱਖਣ ਦੇ ਦੋਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਗ੍ਰਿਫਤਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ। ਇਸ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਨੇ ਅਲ-ਕਾਇਦਾ ਦੀਆਂ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀਆਂ ’ਤੇ ਰੋਕ ਲਗਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਏਜੰਸੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਤਾਕਤ ਨੂੰ ਦਰਸਾਇਆ ਹੈ।
The Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has arrested four individuals for their alleged links to Al-Qaeda in the Indian Subcontinent (AQIS), a banned terrorist organization. Officials confirmed that these terrorist arrests were made in Ahmedabad, Delhi, Noida, and Modasa, Gujarat, as part of a coordinated counter-terrorism operation.
The anti-terror agency issued a statement saying, “The Gujarat ATS has busted an AQIS terror module. Four individuals linked to the proscribed terrorist organization have been arrested.” The suspects, identified as Mohd Faiq (Delhi), Mohd Fardeen (Ahmedabad), Saifullah Qureshi (Modasa, Gujarat), and Zeeshan Ali (Noida, Uttar Pradesh), were involved in spreading social media propaganda to promote AQIS ideology.
Gujarat ATS DIG Sunil Joshi revealed that the operation began after a tip-off on June 10, 2025, about five Instagram accounts disseminating Al-Qaeda ideology and anti-Indian activities. A technical team was formed to monitor these accounts. Joshi stated, “The activities of these four individuals were suspicious. Both digital and physical surveillance were conducted, leading to their arrests.”
During the operation, a sword and Al-Qaeda literature, including documents related to Operation Sindoor, were recovered from Fardeen Shaikh. This material was anti-Indian government and pro-Pakistani in nature. Investigations revealed that Mohd Faiq was in contact with Pakistani Instagram accounts, sharing jihadist materials to further radicalization efforts. The suspects used social media propaganda to radicalize youth and promote anti-Indian activities.
The four accused collaborated to amplify their content, reaching a wider audience through their respective Instagram accounts. Their posts included calls for jihad, ‘Ghazwa-e-Hind,’ and establishing a Sharia-based regime, posing a threat to Indian democracy. The Gujarat ATS has initiated an audit of 25 sensitive and 62 related Instagram accounts to uncover further networks.
Cases have been registered against the accused under Sections 13, 18, 38, and 39 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and Sections 113, 152, and 196 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Fardeen Shaikh and Saifullah Qureshi have been sent to 14-day remand, while Mohd Faiq and Zeeshan Ali will be produced in court.
In 2023, four Bangladeshi nationals were arrested in Ahmedabad for similar AQIS links, highlighting the ongoing efforts of security agencies to curb Al-Qaeda activities. This operation underscores the strength of the Gujarat ATS in tackling terrorist threats and ensuring national security.
