ਬੰਗਲਾਦੇਸ਼ ’ਚ ਸਿਖਲਾਈ ਜਹਾਜ਼ ਦਾ ਸਕੂਲ ਨਾਲ ਟੱਕਰ: 20 ਮੌਤਾਂ, ਕਈ ਜ਼ਖਮੀ
ਬੰਗਲਾਦੇਸ਼ ਏਅਰ ਫੋਰਸ ਦਾ F-7 BGI ਸਿਖਲਾਈ ਜਹਾਜ਼ ਢਾਕਾ ਦੇ ਮਾਈਲਸਟੋਨ ਸਕੂਲ ’ਚ ਟਕਰਾ ਗਿਆ, ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ 20 ਲੋਕ, ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾਤਰ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ, ਮਾਰੇ ਗਏ ਅਤੇ 50 ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਜ਼ਖਮੀ ਹੋਏ। ਅੱਗ ਲੱਗਣ ਕਾਰਨ ਸਥਿਤੀ ਹੋਰ ਗੰਭੀਰ ਹੋਈ। ਜ਼ਖਮੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਕੰਬਾਈਂਡ ਮਿਲਟਰੀ ਹਸਪਤਾਲ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਹਸਪਤਾਲਾਂ ’ਚ ਇਲਾਜ ਚੱਲ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੇ ਇੱਕ ਦਿਨ ਦਾ ਸੋਗ ਐਲਾਨਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਬੰਗਲਾਦੇਸ਼ ਏਅਰ ਫੋਰਸ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਸਿਖਲਾਈ ਜਹਾਜ਼ ਸੋਮਵਾਰ, 21 ਜੁਲਾਈ 2025 ਨੂੰ ਢਾਕਾ ਦੇ ਉੱਤਰਾ ਖੇਤਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਾਈਲਸਟੋਨ ਸਕੂਲ ਅਤੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੀ ਇਮਾਰਤ ਨਾਲ ਟਕਰਾ ਗਿਆ। ਇਸ ਹਾਦਸੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਘੱਟੋ-ਘੱਟ 20 ਲੋਕ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾਤਰ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਸਨ, ਮਾਰੇ ਗਏ ਅਤੇ 50 ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਜ਼ਖਮੀ ਹੋ ਗਏ। ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਮੁਤਾਬਕ, ਚੀਨੀ ਬਣਤਰ ਦਾ F-7 BGI ਸਿਖਲਾਈ ਜਹਾਜ਼ ਉਡਾਣ ਭਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਥੋੜ੍ਹੀ ਦੇਰ ਬਾਅਦ ਇਸ ਸਕੂਲ ਕੈਂਪਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਡਿੱਗ ਗਿਆ।
ਫਾਇਰ ਸਰਵਿਸ ਅਤੇ ਸਿਵਲ ਡਿਫੈਂਸ ਦੇ ਡਾਇਰੈਕਟਰ ਜਨਰਲ ਬ੍ਰਿਗੇਡੀਅਰ ਜਨਰਲ ਜ਼ਾਹੇਦ ਕਮਲ ਨੇ ਪੱਤਰਕਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੱਸਿਆ, “ਇਸ ਜਹਾਜ਼ ਦੇ ਕਰੈਸ਼ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਲੱਗੀ ਅੱਗ ਕਾਰਨ 20 ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਮੌਤ ਹੋ ਗਈ। ਘੱਟੋ-ਘੱਟ 50 ਹੋਰ ਲੋਕ ਗੰਭੀਰ ਰੂਪ ਵਿੱਚ ਜ਼ਖਮੀ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ।” ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਬਚਾਅ ਕਰਮਚਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਸਕੂਲ ਕੰਪਾਊਂਡ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ 19 ਲਾਸ਼ਾਂ ਬਰਾਮਦ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ, ਅਤੇ ਬਚਾਅ ਕਾਰਜ ਹਾਲੇ ਵੀ ਜਾਰੀ ਹਨ।
ਸਿਹਤ ਮੰਤਰਾਲੇ ਦੇ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਸਹਾਇਕ ਮੁਹੰਮਦ ਸਈਦੁਰ ਰਹਿਮਾਨ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਮਾਈਲਸਟੋਨ ਸਕੂਲ ਅਤੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਹਾਜ਼ ਦੇ ਡਿੱਗਣ ਮਗਰੋਂ 16 ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਮੌਤ ਦੀ ਸੂਚਨਾ ਸੀ, ਜੋ ਬਾਅਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਧ ਕੇ 20 ਹੋ ਗਈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ 72 ਜ਼ਖਮੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੜਨ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਸੱਟਾਂ ਕਾਰਨ ਹਸਪਤਾਲਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਾਖਲ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਇਹ ਜ਼ਖਮੀ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾਤਰ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਹਨ, ਕੰਬਾਈਂਡ ਮਿਲਟਰੀ ਹਸਪਤਾਲ (CMH), ਢਾਕਾ ਮੈਡੀਕਲ ਕਾਲਜ ਹਸਪਤਾਲ ਅਤੇ ਨੈਸ਼ਨਲ ਇੰਸਟੀਚਿਊਟ ਆਫ ਬਰਨ ਐਂਡ ਪਲਾਸਟਿਕ ਸਰਜਰੀ (NIBPS) ਵਿੱਚ ਇਲਾਜ ਅਧੀਨ ਹਨ।
ਡਾਕਟਰਾਂ ਮੁਤਾਬਕ, ਜ਼ਖਮੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਅੱਠ ਦੀ ਹਾਲਤ ਨਾਜ਼ੁਕ ਹੈ। NIBPS ਦੇ ਇੱਕ ਡਾਕਟਰ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਸਾਡੇ ਹਸਪਤਾਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਜ਼ਖਮੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਲਗਾਤਾਰ ਵਧ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ।”
ਰਹਿਮਾਨ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਜਹਾਜ਼ ਦਾ ਪਾਇਲਟ, ਫਲਾਈਟ ਲੈਫਟੀਨੈਂਟ ਮੁਹੰਮਦ ਤੌਕੀਰ ਇਸਲਾਮ, ਕੰਬਾਈਂਡ ਮਿਲਟਰੀ ਹਸਪਤਾਲ ਦੀ ਇੰਟੈਂਸਿਵ ਕੇਅਰ ਯੂਨਿਟ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਲਾਜ ਅਧੀਨ ਹੈ। ਰੱਖਿਆ ਮੰਤਰਾਲੇ ਨੇ ਬਿਆਨ ਜਾਰੀ ਕਰਕੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ F-7 BGI ਸਿਖਲਾਈ ਜਹਾਜ਼ ਨੇ ਦੁਪਹਿਰ 1:06 ਵਜੇ ਉਡਾਣ ਭਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਥੋੜ੍ਹੀ ਦੇਰ ਬਾਅਦ ਮਾਈਲਸਟੋਨ ਸਕੂਲ ਦੀ ਇਮਾਰਤ ਨਾਲ ਟਕਰਾ ਗਿਆ।
ਫਾਇਰ ਸਰਵਿਸ ਦੇ ਇੱਕ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਜਹਾਜ਼ ਵੱਡੇ ਧਮਾਕੇ ਨਾਲ ਸਕੂਲ ਦੀ ਚਾਰ ਮੰਜ਼ਿਲਾ ਇਮਾਰਤ ਨਾਲ ਟਕਰਾਇਆ, ਜਿਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਅੱਗ ਲੱਗ ਗਈ। ਇੱਕ ਸਕੂਲ ਅਧਿਆਪਕ ਨੇ ਨਾਮ ਗੁਪਤ ਰੱਖਣ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਰਤ ’ਤੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਰਮਚਾਰੀ ਲਾਸ਼ਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬੈਗਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਾ ਕੇ ਕੰਬਾਈਂਡ ਮਿਲਟਰੀ ਹਸਪਤਾਲ ਲਿਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਦਰਜਨਾਂ ਐਂਬੂਲੈਂਸਾਂ ਜ਼ਖਮੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਨੇੜੇ ਦੇ ਹਸਪਤਾਲਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਜਾ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਸਨ।”
ਨੈਸ਼ਨਲ ਇੰਸਟੀਚਿਊਟ ਆਫ ਬਰਨ ਐਂਡ ਪਲਾਸਟਿਕ ਸਰਜਰੀ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਉਹ 18 ਜ਼ਖਮੀਆਂ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾਤਰ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਸਨ, ਦਾ ਇਲਾਜ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ, ਅਤੇ ਕੁਝ ਦੀ ਹਾਲਤ ਨਾਜ਼ੁਕ ਹੈ।
ਇਸ ਦੁਖਦਾਈ ਘਟਨਾ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਬੰਗਲਾਦੇਸ਼ ਦੀ ਅੰਤਰਿਮ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੇ 22 ਜੁਲਾਈ 2025 ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਦਿਨ ਦਾ ਰਾਜਸੀ ਸੋਗ ਐਲਾਨਿਆ ਹੈ। ਮੁੱਖ ਸਲਾਹਕਾਰ ਪ੍ਰੋਫੈਸਰ ਮੁਹੰਮਦ ਯੂਨਸ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਜਹਾਜ਼ ਕਰੈਸ਼ ਕਾਰਨ ਹੋਏ ਜਾਨੀ ਨੁਕਸਾਨ ’ਤੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਅਤੇ ਸਦਮਾ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।
Bangladesh Air Force F-7 BGI training aircraft crashed into the Milestone School and College in Dhaka’s Uttara area, killing at least 20 people, mostly students, and injuring over 50 others. The Chinese-made training aircraft crashed shortly after takeoff, causing a devastating plane crash in the school campus.
Director General of Fire Service and Civil Defence, Brigadier General Zahed Kamal, told reporters, “The plane crash and the subsequent fire resulted in 20 deaths. At least 50 others were seriously injured.” He added that rescue operations recovered 19 bodies from the Milestone School compound, with efforts still ongoing to save lives.
Special Assistant to the Health Ministry, Muhammad Saidur Rahman, initially reported 16 deaths following the plane crash at Milestone School and College, a number that later rose to 20. He confirmed that 72 people, primarily students, were admitted to hospitals with burns and other injuries. The injured are being treated at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH), Dhaka Medical College Hospital, and the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery (NIBPS).
Doctors reported that eight of the injured are in critical condition. A doctor at NIBPS noted, “The number of injured being brought to our hospital is increasing rapidly.”
Rahman stated that the pilot, Flight Lieutenant Muhammad Tauqir Islam, is under treatment in the Intensive Care Unit at the Combined Military Hospital. The Defence Ministry issued a statement confirming that the F-7 BGI training aircraft took off at 1:06 PM and crashed into the Milestone School shortly after.
A Fire Service official reported that the training aircraft hit the four-story school building with a massive explosion, triggering a fire. A school teacher, speaking anonymously, said security personnel were placing bodies in bags for transfer to the Combined Military Hospital. He added, “Dozens of ambulances were rushing the injured to nearby hospitals.”
The National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery reported treating 18 people, mostly students, some in critical condition due to severe burns and injuries.
In response to this tragic plane crash, Bangladesh’s interim government declared a day of national mourning on July 22, 2025. Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus expressed deep shock and grief over the loss of lives in the Milestone School crash.
