ਟਰੰਪ ਨੇ ਦੀਵਾਲੀ ਦੇ ਜਸ਼ਨਾਂ ਲਈ ਵ੍ਹਾਈਟ ਹਾਊਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੱਖੇ ਸਮਾਗਮ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਬੋਧਨ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਕਿਹਾ, "ਮੈਨੂੰ ਭਾਰਤ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ੁਭਕਾਮਨਾਵਾਂ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਮੈਂ ਅੱਜ ਹੀ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲ ਕੀਤੀ। ਬਹੁਤ ਵਧੀਆ ਗੱਲਬਾਤ ਹੋਈ। ਅਸੀਂ ਵਪਾਰ ਬਾਰੇ ਗੱਲ ਕੀਤੀ... ਉਹ ਇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਹੁਤ ਦਿਲਚਸਪੀ ਰੱਖਦੇ ਹਨ। ਹਾਲਾਂਕਿ ਅਸੀਂ ਕੁਝ ਸਮਾਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨ ਨਾਲ ਕੋਈ ਜੰਗ ਨਾ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾਣ ਬਾਰੇ ਗੱਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ। ਸਾਡੀ ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਭਾਰਤ ਨਾਲ ਕੋਈ ਜੰਗ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਬਹੁਤ ਚੰਗੀ ਗੱਲ ਹੈ।"

US President Donald Trump participated in Diwali celebrations at the White House on Tuesday and extended warm greetings to the people of India and Indian-Americans on the occasion of the festival. Trump praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi, calling him a "great person" and a "great friend," while highlighting US-India relations in trade and regional peace.
Addressing the event organized at the White House for Diwali celebrations, Trump said, "I send my best wishes to the people of India. I just spoke to your Prime Minister today. We had a great conversation. We talked about trade... He is very interested in it. Although a while ago we talked about not having any war with Pakistan. We have no war with Pakistan and India. That's a very good thing."
The US President said, "Prime Minister Narendra Modi is a great person, and he has become a great friend of mine over the years." Highlighting the symbolic importance of the Diwali festival, Trump said, "In a few moments, we'll light the diya as a symbol of faith in the victory of light over darkness... It's knowledge over ignorance and good over evil. During Diwali, people recall ancient stories of enemies defeated, obstacles removed, and captives freed."
Trump said that the flame of the diya reminds everyone to seek the path of wisdom and to work with diligence. After his initial speech, Trump lit the diyas to celebrate Diwali at the White House.
Several senior officials of the Trump administration were present at the event, including FBI Director Kash Patel, ODNI Director Tulsi Gabbard, White House Deputy Press Secretary Kush Desai, India's Ambassador to the US Vinay Mohan Kwatra, and US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor. A delegation of prominent Indian-American business leaders also participated in this event, which demonstrates the growing involvement of Indian immigrants in US-India relations. These celebrations highlight the cultural significance of Diwali in American society and the close ties between the United States and India.
