ਫ਼ਿਰੋਜ਼ਪੁਰ-ਦਿੱਲੀ ਵੰਦੇ ਭਾਰਤ ਟਰੇਨ ਅਤੇ ਮੁਹਾਲੀ-ਰਾਜਪੁਰਾ ਲਿੰਕ ਜਲਦੀ ਚੱਲੇਗਾ
ਕੇਂਦਰ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਲਈ ਦੋ ਵੱਡੇ ਰੇਲ ਪ੍ਰੋਜੈਕਟਾਂ ਦਾ ਐਲਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਫ਼ਿਰੋਜ਼ਪੁਰ ਤੋਂ ਨਵੀਂ ਦਿੱਲੀ ਤੱਕ ਵੰਦੇ ਭਾਰਤ ਟਰੇਨ ਅਤੇ ਮੁਹਾਲੀ-ਰਾਜਪੁਰਾ ਰੇਲ ਲਿੰਕ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਪ੍ਰੋਜੈਕਟ ਮਾਲਵਾ ਖੇਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਡੀਗੜ੍ਹ ਅਤੇ ਦਿੱਲੀ ਨਾਲ ਜੋੜਨਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਯਾਤਰਾ ਨੂੰ ਆਸਾਨ ਬਣਾਉਣਗੇ। ਕੇਂਦਰੀ ਰੇਲ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਅਸ਼ਵਨੀ ਵੈਸ਼ਨਵ ਅਤੇ ਰਵਨੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਬਿੱਟੂ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਐਲਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਨੂੰ ਵਧੀਆ ਰੇਲ ਸਹੂਲਤਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕਰੇਗਾ।
ਕੇਂਦਰ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੇ ਹੜ੍ਹ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵਿਤ ਸਰਹੱਦੀ ਰਾਜ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਲਈ ਤੋਹਫ਼ੇ ਵਜੋਂ ਦੋ ਵੱਡੇ ਰੇਲ ਬੁਨਿਆਦੀ ਢਾਂਚਾ ਪ੍ਰੋਜੈਕਟਾਂ ਦਾ ਐਲਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ। ਕੇਂਦਰੀ ਰੇਲ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਅਸ਼ਵਨੀ ਵੈਸ਼ਨਵ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਡਿਪਟੀ ਰਵਨੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਬਿੱਟੂ ਨੇ ਮੁਹਾਲੀ-ਰਾਜਪੁਰਾ ਰੇਲ ਲਿੰਕ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਐਲਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਮੰਗ ਪਿਛਲੇ 50 ਸਾਲਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾ ਰਹੀ ਸੀ। ਇਹ ਲਿੰਕ 18 ਕਿਲੋਮੀਟਰ ਲੰਮਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਦੀ ਲਾਗਤ ਲਗਭਗ 443 ਕਰੋੜ ਰੁਪਏ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਪ੍ਰੋਜੈਕਟ ਚੰਡੀਗੜ੍ਹ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਲਵਾ ਖੇਤਰ ਨਾਲ ਜੋੜੇਗਾ, ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਾਜਪੁਰਾ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ, ਸੰਗਰੂਰ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਇਲਾਕੇ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹਨ। ਇਸ ਨਾਲ ਯਾਤਰਾ ਦਾ ਸਮਾਂ 66 ਕਿਲੋਮੀਟਰ ਘੱਟ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ-ਅੰਬਾਲਾ ਮੁੱਖ ਲਾਈਨ ਤੇ ਟ੍ਰੈਫਿਕ ਵੀ ਘੱਟ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ।
ਕੇਂਦਰੀ ਮੰਤਰੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਫ਼ਿਰੋਜ਼ਪੁਰ-ਨਵੀਂ ਦਿੱਲੀ ਵੰਦੇ ਭਾਰਤ ਟਰੇਨ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਵੀ ਐਲਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਟਰੇਨ ਬੁੱਧਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਹਫ਼ਤੇ ਭਰ ਚੱਲੇਗੀ। ਫ਼ਿਰੋਜ਼ਪੁਰ ਤੋਂ ਨਵੀਂ ਦਿੱਲੀ ਤੱਕ ਵੰਦੇ ਭਾਰਤ ਪੂਰੇ ਮਾਲਵਾ ਖੇਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਲੀ ਨਾਲ ਜੋੜੇਗੀ। ਇਹ ਵੰਦੇ ਭਾਰਤ ਫ਼ਿਰੋਜ਼ਪੁਰ ਤੋਂ ਫ਼ਰੀਦਕੋਟ, ਬਠਿੰਡਾ, ਧੂਰੀ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ, ਅੰਬਾਲਾ, ਕੁਰੂਕਸ਼ੇਤਰ ਅਤੇ ਪਾਨੀਪਤ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਨਵੀਂ ਦਿੱਲੀ ਤੱਕ ਚੱਲੇਗੀ। ਇਹ ਟਰੇਨ 486 ਕਿਲੋਮੀਟਰ ਦੀ ਦੂਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਰਫ਼ 6 ਘੰਟੇ 40 ਮਿੰਟ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਵਰ ਕਰੇਗੀ। ਵੈਸ਼ਨਵ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰਸਤਾਵ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਮਨਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਲਈ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।
ਵੈਸ਼ਨਵ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਸਿਧਾਂਤਕ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਮਨਜ਼ੂਰ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ ਪ੍ਰਸਤਾਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੈਬਨਿਟ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਵਾਨਗੀ ਲਈ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ। ਮੁਹਾਲੀ-ਰਾਜਪੁਰਾ ਲਿੰਕ ਲਈ ਰੇਲਵੇ ਨੂੰ 54 ਹੈਕਟੇਅਰ ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਦੀ ਲੋੜ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਐਕੁਆਇਰ ਕਰਕੇ ਕੇਂਦਰ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਵੇਗੀ। ਵੈਸ਼ਨਵ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਨਾਲ ਸਬੰਧਤ ਹੋਰ ਪ੍ਰੋਜੈਕਟਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਚੰਡੀਗੜ੍ਹ ਰੇਲਵੇ ਸਟੇਸ਼ਨ ਦਾ ਪੁਨਰ ਵਿਕਾਸ ਵੀ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਚੰਡੀਗੜ੍ਹ ਰੇਲਵੇ ਸਟੇਸ਼ਨ ਦੀ ਦਿੱਖ ਬਦਲਣ ਦਾ ਕੰਮ 2026-27 ਤੱਕ ਪੂਰਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ। ਇਸ ਨਾਲ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੇਲ ਨੈੱਟਵਰਕ ਨੂੰ ਹੋਰ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਯਾਤਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਧੇਰੇ ਸਹੂਲਤ ਮਿਲੇਗੀ।
The central government has announced two major rail infrastructure projects as gifts for the flood-affected border state of Punjab. Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and his deputy Ravneet Singh Bittu have announced the start of the Mohali-Rajpura rail link, which has been demanded for the past 50 years. This link is 18 kilometers long and costs approximately 443 crore rupees. This project will connect Chandigarh with the Malwa region, including Rajpura, Patiala, Sangrur, and other areas. It will reduce travel time by 66 kilometers and ease traffic on the Ambala-Amritsar main line.
The Union Ministers have also announced the launch of the Ferozepur-New Delhi Vande Bharat train. This train will run six days a week, excluding Wednesdays. The Ferozepur to New Delhi Vande Bharat will connect the entire Malwa region with Delhi. This Vande Bharat will run from Ferozepur via Faridkot, Bhatinda, Dhuri, Patiala, Ambala, Kurukshetra, and Panipat to New Delhi. The train will cover the 486-kilometer distance in just 6 hours and 40 minutes. Vaishnaw said that this proposal will be sent to the Prime Minister for approval.
Vaishnaw stated that the proposals approved in principle will be sent to the Cabinet for approval. For the Mohali-Rajpura link, the railways need 54 hectares of land, which the Punjab government will acquire and hand over to the center. Vaishnaw said that other projects related to Punjab include the redevelopment of Chandigarh railway station. He said that the work to change the look of Chandigarh railway station will be completed by 2026-27. This will further strengthen the rail network in Punjab and provide more facilities to passengers.
