ਕੈਨੇਡਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਨਮ ਅਧਿਕਾਰ ਨਾਗਰਿਕਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਖਤਮ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਮੰਗ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਕੰਜ਼ਰਵੇਟਿਵ ਪਾਰਟੀ

ਓਟਾਵਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਅੱਜ ਕੰਜ਼ਰਵੇਟਿਵ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਨੇ ਕੈਨੇਡਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਨਮ ਅਧਿਕਾਰ ਨਾਗਰਿਕਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਖਤਮ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਮੰਗ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਕਿ ਅਜੇ ਤੱਕ ਕੈਨੇਡਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਨਮੇ ਹਰ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਾਪਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਨਾਗਰਿਕਤਾ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾਂ ਕੈਨੇਡੀਅਨ ਨਾਗਰਿਕ ਬਣਾਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਕੰਜ਼ਰਵੇਟਿਵ ਇਮੀਗ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਨ ਆਲੋਚਕ ਮਿਸ਼ਲ ਰੈਂਪਲ ਗਾਰਨਰ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਨਿਯਮ ਇਮੀਗ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਨ ਸਿਸਟਮ ਨੂੰ ਗਲਤ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਲਈ ਖੁੱਲ੍ਹਾ ਛੱਡ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਕੈਨੇਡਾ ਨੂੰ ਹੋਰ ਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਵਰਗਾ ਬਣਾਉਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਜਨਮ ਅਧਿਕਾਰ ਨਾਗਰਿਕਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਸੀਮਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਬਿੱਲ ਸੀ-3 ਵਿੱਚ ਤਬਦੀਲੀ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਸਤਾਵਨਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਸੀ ਜੋ ਕਿ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਾਪਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਅਸਥਾਈ ਨਿਵਾਸੀ ਹੋਣ 'ਤੇ ਜਨੇ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨਾਗਰਿਕ ਨਾ ਬਣਾਏ ਪਰ ਇਹ ਤਬਦੀਲੀ ਇਮੀਗ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਨ ਕਮੇਟੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਿਬਰਲ ਅਤੇ ਬਲੌਕ ਕਿਊਬੈਕਸੀਐੱਮਪੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਰੱਦ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ।

ਮਿਸ਼ਲ ਰੈਂਪਲ ਗਾਰਨਰ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਕੈਨੇਡਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਕੇਸ ਵਧ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਲੋਕ ਅਸਥਾਈ ਵੀਜ਼ੇ 'ਤੇ ਆ ਕੇ ਬੱਚੇ ਜਨਮ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਇਮੀਗ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਨ ਪ੍ਰਕਿਰਿਆ ਨੂੰ ਤੇਜ਼ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਸਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਨਿਯਮ ਗਲਤ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹਿਤ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਉੱਤਰ ਪ੍ਰਦੇਸ਼ ਅਤੇ ਯੂਕੇ ਵਰਗੇ ਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਦਾਹਰਨ ਵਾਂਗ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਜਨਮ ਅਧਿਕਾਰ ਨਾਗਰਿਕਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਬੰਦ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਕੈਨੇਡਾ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਅਪਣਾਉਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਕੰਜ਼ਰਵੇਟਿਵ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਨੇ 2018 ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਇਸ ਨੀਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਖਤਮ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਸੱਲਾ ਪਾਸ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਹੁਣ ਇਮੀਗ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਨ ਬਾਰੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਵਧਣ ਨਾਲ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਫਿਰ ਚਰਚਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਿਆਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਗਾਰਨਰ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਤਬਦੀਲੀ ਨਾਗਰਿਕਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਅਰਜ਼ੀ ਨਾਲ ਜੋੜੇਗੀ ਅਤੇ ਅਸਥਾਈ ਨਿਵਾਸੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਗਰਿਕ ਨਾ ਬਣਾਏਗੀ ਜੋ ਕਿ ਇਮੀਗ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਨ ਨੂੰ ਨਿਯੰਤਰਿਤ ਕਰੇਗੀ।
