ਭਾਰਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਜ਼ਰਾਈਲ ਦੇ ਰਾਜਦੂਤ ਰੀਊਵੇਨ ਅਜ਼ਾਰ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਭਾਰਤ, ਇਜ਼ਰਾਈਲ ਅਤੇ ਇਰਾਨ ਵਿਚਾਲੇ ਵਧਦੇ ਤਣਾਅ ਨੂੰ ਘਟਾਉਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਹੱਤਵਪੂਰਨ ਵਿਚੋਲਗੀ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਬਿਆਨ ਇਜ਼ਰਾਈਲ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਬੈਂਜਾਮਿਨ ਨੇਤਨਯਾਹੂ ਅਤੇ ਭਾਰਤ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਨਰਿੰਦਰ ਮੋਦੀ ਵਿਚਾਲੇ ਹੋਈ ਟੈਲੀਫੋਨ ਗੱਲਬਾਤ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਆਇਆ ਹੈ। ਰਾਜਦੂਤ ਨੇ ਇੱਕ ਇੰਟਰਵਿਊ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਿਹਾ, "ਭਾਰਤ ਦੇ ਦੋਵਾਂ ਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਚੰਗੇ ਸਬੰਧ ਹਨ, ਜਿਸ ਕਰਕੇ ਇਹ ਇਜ਼ਰਾਈਲ-ਇਰਾਨ ਤਣਾਅ ਨੂੰ ਘਟਾਉਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਹਿਮ ਭੂਮਿਕਾ ਨਿਭਾਅ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ। ਅਸੀਂ ਭਾਰਤ ਨਾਲ ਇਸ ਮੁੱਦੇ ’ਤੇ ਗੱਲਬਾਤ ਕਰਕੇ ਖੁਸ਼ ਹਾਂ।"
ਪੱਛਮੀ ਏਸ਼ੀਆ ਵਿੱਚ ਤਣਾਅ ਵਧਣ ਦੇ ਵਿਚਕਾਰ, ਇਜ਼ਰਾਈਲ ਅਤੇ ਇਰਾਨ ਇੱਕ-ਦੂਜੇ ਖਿਲਾਫ਼ ਹਮਲੇ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ। ਨੇਤਨਯਾਹੂ ਨੇ ਸ਼ੁੱਕਰਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਮੋਦੀ ਨੂੰ ਫੋਨ ’ਤੇ ਇਜ਼ਰਾਈਲ ਦੀਆਂ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਾਰਵਾਈਆਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਰਾਜਦੂਤ ਅਜ਼ਾਰ ਨੇ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਾਰਵਾਈਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਰਾਨ ਦੇ ਪਰਮਾਣੂ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਅਤੇ ਬੈਲਿਸਟਿਕ ਮਿਜ਼ਾਈਲਾਂ ਕਾਰਨ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਏ "ਹੋਂਦ ਦੇ ਖਤਰੇ" ਦੇ ਜਵਾਬ ਵਜੋਂ ਜ਼ਰੂਰੀ ਦੱਸਿਆ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ, "ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਦੇਸ਼ ਅਜਿਹੀ ਸਥਿਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਸਹਿਣ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ। ਸਾਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਲਈ ਫੈਸਲਾਕੁਨ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਕਰਨੀ ਪਈ।"

Israel’s Ambassador to India, Reuven Azar, expressed confidence that India can play a significant diplomatic role in reducing tensions between Israel and Iran. This statement follows a telephone conversation between Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In an interview, Azar said, “India has good relations with both nations, enabling it to mediate effectively in the Israel-Iran tensions. We are pleased to discuss this issue with India.”
Amid rising tensions in West Asia, Israel and Iran have been engaging in attacks against each other. On Friday, Netanyahu briefed PM Modi about Israel’s security actions, which Azar described as necessary to counter the security threat posed by Iran’s nuclear program and ballistic missiles. He stated, “No country can tolerate such a situation. We had to take decisive action for our security.”
Azar claimed that some Iranian officials are secretly working to develop nuclear weapons, posing a grave security threat to Israel. He referenced statements by Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei, who has repeatedly called for Israel’s destruction. The ambassador said, “We had to act against Iran’s ballistic missiles and nuclear sites.” He also mentioned Iran’s plans to build a large stockpile of ballistic missiles in the coming years. In this context, India’s mediation is seen as crucial for promoting peace efforts and enhancing regional security.
