ਅਗਨੀਵੀਰ ਅਕਾਸ਼ਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੂੰ ਚਾਹਿਲ ਪਿੰਡ 'ਚ ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਸਨਮਾਨ ਨਾਲ ਅੰਤਿਮ ਵਿਦਾਈ
ਅਗਨੀਵੀਰ ਅਕਾਸ਼ਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ, ਜੋ ਜੰਮੂ ਕਸ਼ਮੀਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਡਿਊਟੀ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਸ਼ਹੀਦ ਹੋਏ, ਦਾ ਅੰਤਿਮ ਸਸਕਾਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਜੱਦੀ ਪਿੰਡ ਚਾਹਿਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਸਨਮਾਨ ਨਾਲ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਮੌਤ ਸਿਰ 'ਚ ਗੋਲੀ ਲੱਗਣ ਕਾਰਨ ਹੋਈ, ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਜਾਂਚ ਜਾਰੀ ਹੈ। ਸਸਕਾਰ ਮੌਕੇ 'ਤੇ ਸਪੀਕਰ ਕੁਲਤਾਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਸੰਧਵਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਉੱਚ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਸਨ। ਪੰਜਾਬ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਹੀਦ ਮੰਨਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਸਾਰੇ ਸਨਮਾਨ ਦੇਣ ਦਾ ਐਲਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।
ਜੰਮੂ ਕਸ਼ਮੀਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਡਿਊਟੀ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਸ਼ਹੀਦ ਹੋਏ ਅਗਨੀਵੀਰ ਅਕਾਸ਼ਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ (ਉਮਰ 21 ਸਾਲ) ਦਾ ਅੰਤਿਮ ਸਸਕਾਰ ਅੱਜ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਜੱਦੀ ਪਿੰਡ ਚਾਹਿਲ (ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਫ਼ਰੀਦਕੋਟ) ਵਿੱਚ ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਸਨਮਾਨ ਨਾਲ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਲਾਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਜੰਮੂ ਤੋਂ ਚਾਹਿਲ ਪਹੁੰਚਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ, ਜਿੱਥੇ ਫੌਜੀ ਟੁਕੜੀ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਸਲਾਮੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਗਈ। ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ 'ਤੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿਧਾਨ ਸਭਾ ਦੇ ਸਪੀਕਰ ਕੁਲਤਾਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਸੰਧਵਾਂ, ਫੌਜ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਾਸਨ ਦੇ ਉੱਚ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀ, ਅਤੇ ਸਥਾਨਕ ਲੋਕ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਸਨ।
ਅਕਾਸ਼ਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਦੋ ਸਾਲ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਅਗਨੀਪਥ ਸਕੀਮ ਤਹਿਤ ਫੌਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਰਤੀ ਹੋਈ ਸੀ। ਉਹ ਹਾਲ ਹੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਛੁੱਟੀ ਤੋਂ ਵਾਪਸ ਡਿਊਟੀ 'ਤੇ ਲੱਗੇ ਸਨ। ਜੰਮੂ ਵਿੱਚ ਡਿਊਟੀ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਿਰ 'ਚ ਗੋਲੀ ਲੱਗਣ ਕਾਰਨ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਮੌਤ ਹੋ ਗਈ। ਇਸ ਘਟਨਾ ਦੀ ਜਾਂਚ ਜਾਰੀ ਹੈ।
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਾਂ ਦੀ ਤਬੀਅਤ ਲਾਸ਼ ਪਹੁੰਚਣ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਵਿਗੜ ਗਈ, ਜਿਸ ਕਾਰਨ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਸਿੰਘ ਮੈਡੀਕਲ ਹਸਪਤਾਲ ਲਿਜਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ। ਫਰੀਦਕੋਟ ਦੇ ਵਿਧਾਇਕ ਗੁਰਦਿੱਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਸੇਖੋਂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਅਗਨੀਵੀਰ ਅਕਾਸ਼ਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਹੀਦ ਮੰਨਦੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਰੇ ਸਨਮਾਨ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਜਾਣਗੇ।
Agniveer Akashdeep Singh, aged 21, who was martyred while on duty in Jammu and Kashmir, was cremated with full state honours in his native village Chahal, located in Faridkot district. His mortal remains were brought from Jammu to Chahal, where a military contingent paid tribute with a ceremonial salute. The cremation ceremony was attended by Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan, senior officials from the army and administration, and local residents.
Akashdeep Singh had joined the Indian Army two years ago under the Agnipath scheme. He had recently returned to duty after a short leave. While performing his duties in Jammu, he sustained a fatal gunshot wound to the head, leading to his untimely demise. An investigation into the incident is currently underway.
Prior to the arrival of his body, Akashdeep's mother experienced a sudden health deterioration and was admitted to Guru Gobind Singh Medical Hospital. Faridkot MLA Gurditt Singh Sekhon stated that the Punjab government recognizes Agniveer Akashdeep Singh as a martyr and will accord him all due honours.
