In Saudi Arabia, a bus traveling from Mecca to Medina collided with a diesel tanker this morning, resulting in the deaths of at least 42 Indian Umrah pilgrims linked to Hyderabad. The accident occurred around 1:30 AM Indian Standard Time near the Mufrihat area, where the bus caught fire after the collision. The bus had a total of 43 passengers on board, of whom only one individual, Mohammed Abdullah Shoeb, survived and is currently receiving treatment in the hospital. These pilgrims were part of a Hyderabad-based group that included women and children. Reports indicate that among the deceased are 20 women and 11 children. The group had departed from Hyderabad on November 9 and was heading to Medina after performing Umrah prayers in Mecca. The passengers were asleep at night when this horrific accident occurred.
