ਹਿਮਾਚਲ ਮੰਡੀ ’ਚ ਬੱਦਲ ਫਟਣ ਨਾਲ ਪੰਜ ਮੌਤਾਂ, ਵੱਡਾ ਨੁਕਸਾਨ
ਮੰਡੀ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਾਰੀ ਮੀਂਹ ਅਤੇ ਅੱਠ ਥਾਵਾਂ ’ਤੇ ਬੱਦਲ ਫਟਣ ਕਾਰਨ ਪੰਜ ਵਿਅਕਤੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਮੌਤ ਹੋਈ ਅਤੇ 15 ਲਾਪਤਾ ਹਨ, ਜਦਕਿ 132 ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਚਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ। ਹੜ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ 24 ਘਰਾਂ, 12 ਗਊਸ਼ਾਲਾਵਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਹਾਈਡਰੋ ਪਾਵਰ ਪ੍ਰਾਜੈਕਟ ਨੂੰ ਨੁਕਸਾਨ ਪਹੁੰਚਾਇਆ, ਅਤੇ ਚੰਡੀਗੜ੍ਹ-ਮਨਾਲੀ ਮਾਰਗ ਬੰਦ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ। ਮੌਸਮ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਨੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਸਮੇਤ ਉੱਤਰੀ ਭਾਰਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਗਲੇ 6-7 ਦਿਨ ਭਾਰੀ ਮੀਂਹ ਦੀ ਚੇਤਾਵਨੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ।
ਲੰਘੀ ਰਾਤ ਤੋਂ ਪੈ ਰਹੇ ਭਾਰੀ ਮੀਂਹ, ਹੜ੍ਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਬੱਦਲ ਫਟਣ ਦੀਆਂ ਘਟਨਾਵਾਂ ਕਾਰਨ ਮੰਡੀ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੱਡੇ ਪੱਧਰ ’ਤੇ ਨੁਕਸਾਨ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ। ਮੰਡੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਅੱਠ ਥਾਵਾਂ ’ਤੇ ਬੱਦਲ ਫਟਣ ਦੀ ਸੂਚਨਾ ਮਿਲੀ ਹੈ। ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਘਟਨਾਵਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੰਜ ਵਿਅਕਤੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਮੌਤ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਅਤੇ 15 ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਲਾਪਤਾ ਦੱਸੇ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ। ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਾਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਐੱਸਡੀਆਰਐੱਫ ਦੀਆਂ ਟੀਮਾਂ ਨੇ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਐਮਰਜੈਂਸੀ ਅਪਰੇਸ਼ਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ 132 ਵਿਅਕਤੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਚਾਇਆ ਹੈ। ਮੰਡੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੰਘੀ ਰਾਤ ਤੋਂ 216.8 ਐੱਮਐੱਮ ਮੀਂਹ ਦਰਜ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਮੰਡੀ ਦੇ ਡਿਪਟੀ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ ਅਪੂਰਵ ਦੇਵਗਨ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਕਰਸੋਗ ਸਬ-ਡਿਵੀਜ਼ਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੱਦਲ ਫਟਣ ਕਾਰਨ ਇੱਕ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਦੀ ਮੌਤ ਹੋਈ, ਜਦਕਿ 16 ਹੋਰ ਵਿਅਕਤੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਚਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ 12 ਬੱਚੇ ਅਤੇ 4 ਮਹਿਲਾਵਾਂ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹਨ। ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ, ਗੋਹਰ ਸਬ-ਡਿਵੀਜ਼ਨ ਦੇ ਬੜਾ ਪਿੰਡ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੋ, ਤਲਵਾੜਾ ਪਿੰਡ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਅਤੇ ਜੋਗਿੰਦਰ ਨਗਰ ਸਬ-ਡਿਵੀਜ਼ਨ ਦੇ ਨੇਰੀ ਕੋਟਲਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਦੀ ਮੌਤ ਹੋਈ। ਰਿੱਕੀ ਪਿੰਡ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੱਤ ਜੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਇੱਕ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਅਤ ਬਾਹਰ ਕੱਢ ਕੇ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਅਤ ਥਾਂ ’ਤੇ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਗਿਆ। ਹੜ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਾਰਨ 24 ਘਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ 12 ਗਊਸ਼ਾਲਾਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨੁਕਸਾਨ ਪਹੁੰਚਿਆ, ਅਤੇ ਕਈ ਗਊਆਂ ਰੁੜ੍ਹ ਗਈਆਂ।
ਸੇਰਾਜ ਵਿਧਾਨ ਸਭਾ ਹਲਕੇ ਦੇ ਸਿਆਂਜ ਪਿੰਡ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਿਆਸ ਦੀ ਸਹਾਇਕ ਨਦੀ ਜਿਊਨੀ ਖੱਡ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਾਣੀ ਦਾ ਪੱਧਰ ਵਧਣ ਕਾਰਨ ਘੱਟੋ-ਘੱਟ ਦੋ ਘਰ ਰੁੜ੍ਹ ਗਏ, ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ 9 ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਵਹਿ ਗਏ। ਹੜ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਾਰਨ ਥੁਨਾਗ ਸਬ-ਡਿਵੀਜ਼ਨ ਦੇ ਪਟੀਕਰੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਾਈਡਰੋ ਪਾਵਰ ਪ੍ਰਾਜੈਕਟ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਭਾਰੀ ਨੁਕਸਾਨ ਹੋਇਆ।
ਬਿਆਸ ਦਰਿਆ ਦੇ ਉੱਪਰਲੇ ਖੇਤਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਾਰੀ ਮੀਂਹ ਕਾਰਨ ਪੰਡੋਹ ਬੰਨ੍ਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਾਣੀ ਦੇ ਵਹਾਅ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਾਧਾ ਹੋਣ ਨਾਲ ਸਥਿਤੀ ਨਾਜ਼ੁਕ ਹੋ ਗਈ। ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਣੀ ਛੱਡਣ ਲਈ ਗੇਟ ਖੋਲ੍ਹਣੇ ਪਏ, ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਬਿਆਸ ਦਰਿਆ ਦਾ ਪੱਧਰ ਕਾਫ਼ੀ ਵਧ ਗਿਆ। ਸਥਾਨਕ ਲੋਕਾਂ, ਸੈਲਾਨੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਕਾਮਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਰਿਆ ਦੇ ਕੰਢਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਦੂਰ ਰਹਿਣ ਦੀ ਸਲਾਹ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਗਈ। ਲਾਰਜੀ ਹਾਈਡਰੋ ਇਲੈਕਟ੍ਰਿਕ ਪ੍ਰਾਜੈਕਟ ਅਤੇ ਕੁੱਲੂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਪਾਣੀ ਛੱਡਿਆ ਗਿਆ। ਵਾਧੂ ਪਾਣੀ ਛੱਡੇ ਜਾਣ ਕਾਰਨ ਪੰਡੋਹ ਬਾਜ਼ਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਅੱਧੀ ਰਾਤ ਨੂੰ ਖਾਲੀ ਕਰਵਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ।
ਐੱਸਡੀਆਰਐੱਫ ਦੀ ਟੀਮ ਮੌਕੇ ’ਤੇ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਹਾਲਾਤ ’ਤੇ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਰੱਖ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ। ਰਘੂਨਾਥ ਕਾ ਪਧਰ ਤੋਂ 14 ਲੋਕਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਪੁਰਾਣੀ ਮੰਡੀ ਤੋਂ 11 ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਚਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ, ਜੋ ਬਿਆਸ ਦਰਿਆ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਾਣੀ ਦੇ ਵਹਾਅ ਵਧਣ ਕਾਰਨ ਫਸ ਗਏ ਸਨ।
ਚੰਡੀਗੜ੍ਹ-ਮਨਾਲੀ ਮਾਰਗ ’ਤੇ ਢਿੱਗਾਂ ਡਿੱਗਣ ਕਾਰਨ ਮੰਡੀ ਅਤੇ ਕੁੱਲੂ ਵਿਚਾਲੇ ਕਈ ਥਾਵਾਂ ’ਤੇ ਸੜਕਾਂ ਬੰਦ ਹੋ ਗਈਆਂ। ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਯਾਤਰੀ ਰਾਤ ਭਰ ਸੁਰੰਗਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਫਸੇ ਰਹੇ। ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਾਸਨ ਦੇ ਵਾਲੰਟੀਅਰ ਫਸੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭੋਜਨ ਅਤੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਦੀ ਸਪਲਾਈ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ। ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਾਰਨਾਂ ਕਰਕੇ ਮੰਡੀ ਤੋਂ ਕੁੱਲੂ ਵੱਲ ਵਾਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਆਵਾਜਾਈ ਮੁਅੱਤਲ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਗਈ। ਐੱਨਐੱਚਏਆਈ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਮਲਬਾ ਹਟਾਉਣ ਅਤੇ ਆਵਾਜਾਈ ਬਹਾਲ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਜੰਗੀ ਪੱਧਰ ’ਤੇ ਕੰਮ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
ਭਾਰਤੀ ਮੌਸਮ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਪੰਜਾਬ, ਹਰਿਆਣਾ, ਹਿਮਾਚਲ ਪ੍ਰਦੇਸ਼, ਉੱਤਰਾਖੰਡ, ਉੱਤਰ ਪ੍ਰਦੇਸ਼ ਅਤੇ ਰਾਜਸਥਾਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਗਲੇ 6-7 ਦਿਨ ਭਾਰੀ ਮੀਂਹ ਪੈਣ ਦੀ ਸੰਭਾਵਨਾ ਹੈ। ਮੌਨਸੂਨ ਉੱਤਰ-ਪੱਛਮੀ, ਮੱਧ ਅਤੇ ਪੂਰਬੀ ਭਾਰਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਰਗਰਮ ਰਹੇਗਾ। ਮੱਧ ਪ੍ਰਦੇਸ਼, ਵਿਦਰਭ, ਛੱਤੀਸਗੜ੍ਹ, ਬਿਹਾਰ, ਪੱਛਮੀ ਬੰਗਾਲ, ਸਿੱਕਮ ਅਤੇ ਝਾਰਖੰਡ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਭਾਰੀ ਮੀਂਹ ਦੀ ਸੰਭਾਵਨਾ ਹੈ। ਮੌਸਮ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਨੇ ਹੜ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਖਤਰੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਚੌਕਸ ਰਹਿਣ ਦੀ ਸਲਾਹ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ।
Heavy rainfall, floods, and cloudbursts since last night have caused extensive damage in Mandi district, Himachal Pradesh. Reports confirm cloudbursts at eight locations in Mandi, leading to five deaths and 15 people reported missing. The district administration and SDRF teams have rescued 132 individuals through various emergency operations. Mandi recorded 216.8 mm of rainfall last night, exacerbating the floods and damage.
Mandi’s Deputy Commissioner Apoorv Devgan reported that one person died due to a cloudburst in Karsog sub-division, while 16 others, including 12 children and 4 women, were rescued. Similarly, two deaths occurred in Bara village of Gohar sub-division, one in Talwara village, and one in Neri Kotla of Joginder Nagar sub-division. In Rikhi village, a family of seven was safely evacuated to a secure location. The floods damaged 24 houses and 12 cowsheds, with several cows swept away.
In Sianj village under Seraj assembly constituency, rising water levels in Jiuni Khad, a tributary of the Beas River, washed away at least two houses, with nine individuals swept away. The floods also caused significant damage to a hydro power project in Patikari under Thunag sub-division.
Heavy rainfall in the upper reaches of the Beas River led to a critical situation at Pandoh Dam due to increased water flow. Authorities were forced to open the dam’s gates, significantly raising the Beas River’s water level. Locals, tourists, and workers were advised to stay away from the riverbanks. Water was also released from the Larji Hydro Electric Project and Kullu, leading to the evacuation of Pandoh market around midnight.
SDRF teams are present at the scene, closely monitoring the situation. Rescue operations saved 14 people from Raghunath Ka Padhar and 11 from Old Mandi, who were trapped due to the rising Beas River levels.
The Chandigarh-Manali highway was blocked at several points between Mandi and Kullu due to landslides. Many travelers were stranded in tunnels overnight. District administration volunteers are providing food and water to those affected. For safety reasons, vehicle movement from Mandi to Kullu has been suspended. The NHAI is working on a war footing to clear debris and restore traffic.
The Indian Meteorological Department stated that Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan are likely to experience heavy rainfall for the next 6-7 days. The monsoon will remain active in northwest, central, and eastern India. Heavy rainfall is also expected in Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, West Bengal, Sikkim, and Jharkhand. The department has urged authorities and residents in central India, Uttarakhand, and Haryana to stay vigilant due to the flood risk.
