ਰਾਹੁਲ ਗਾਂਧੀ ਦੀ ਮੋਦੀ ਨੂੰ ਅਪੀਲ: ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਹੜ੍ਹ ਪੀੜਤਾਂ ਲਈ 20,000 ਕਰੋੜ ਦੀ ਮਦਦ ਮੰਗੀ
ਰਾਹੁਲ ਗਾਂਧੀ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਨਰਿੰਦਰ ਮੋਦੀ ਨੂੰ ਪੱਤਰ ਲਿਖ ਕੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਹੜ੍ਹ ਪੀੜਤਾਂ ਲਈ 20,000 ਕਰੋੜ ਰੁਪਏ ਦੀ ਵਿੱਤੀ ਮਦਦ ਮੰਗੀ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਕੇਂਦਰ ਦੇ 1,600 ਕਰੋੜ ਦੇ ਰਾਹਤ ਪੈਕੇਜ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਕਾਫੀ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਦਰਿਆਦਿਲੀ ਅਤੇ ਹੌਸਲੇ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਲਾਘਾ ਕੀਤੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਜਲਦੀ ਨੁਕਸਾਨ ਦਾ ਮੁਲਾਂਕਣ ਕਰਕੇ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਰਾਹਤ ਪੈਕੇਜ ਦੇਣ ਦੀ ਅਪੀਲ ਕੀਤੀ।
ਲਈ ਵੱਡੀ ਵਿੱਤੀ ਮਦਦ ਦੀ ਮੰਗ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਕੇਂਦਰ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਲਈ ਐਲਾਨੇ 1,600 ਕਰੋੜ ਰੁਪਏ ਦੇ ਰਾਹਤ ਪੈਕੇਜ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਕਾਫੀ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨਾਲ ‘ਵੱਡੀ ਬੇਇਨਸਾਫੀ’ ਕਰਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਰਾਹੁਲ ਗਾਂਧੀ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੱਤਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੰਗ ਕੀਤੀ ਕਿ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਨੂੰ ਘੱਟੋ-ਘੱਟ 20,000 ਕਰੋੜ ਰੁਪਏ ਦੀ ਵਿੱਤੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਜਾਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਹੜ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਾਰਨ ਹੋਏ ਨੁਕਸਾਨ ਨਾਲ ਨਜਿੱਠਿਆ ਜਾ ਸਕੇ।
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਹਾਲ ਹੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਹੜ੍ਹ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵਿਤ ਇਲਾਕਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਦੌਰਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ, ਜਿੱਥੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਤਬਾਹੀ ਨੂੰ ‘ਹੈਰਾਨ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੀ’ ਦੱਸਿਆ। ਪੱਤਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਹੜ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਾਰਨ 4 ਲੱਖ ਏਕੜ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਝੋਨੇ ਦੀ ਫਸਲ ਤਬਾਹ ਹੋ ਗਈ, 10 ਲੱਖ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਜਾਨਵਰ ਮਰ ਗਏ ਅਤੇ ਲੱਖਾਂ ਪਰਿਵਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਉਜੜ ਗਏ। ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਹਾਸ਼ੀਏ ’ਤੇ ਰਹਿ ਰਹੇ ਭਾਈਚਾਰਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਸਬੰਧਤ ਹਨ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਸੰਕਟ ਨੇ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ।
ਰਾਹੁਲ ਗਾਂਧੀ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਹੜ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਤਬਾਹੀ ਇੰਨੀ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਕਈ ਪਿੰਡ ਇਕ ਦੂਜੇ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਪੂਰੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕੱਟੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ। ਖੇਤੀਬਾੜੀ ਵਾਲੀ ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਵੀ ਹੁਣ ਖੇਤੀ ਲਈ ਅਯੋਗ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਹਜ਼ਾਰਾਂ ਏਕੜ ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਅਜੇ ਵੀ ਪਾਣੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਡੁੱਬੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਸੰਕਟ ਨਾਲ ਨਜਿੱਠਣ ਲਈ ਕੇਂਦਰ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਡੇ ਅਤੇ ਤੇਜ਼ੀ ਨਾਲ ਕਦਮ ਚੁੱਕਣ ਦੀ ਲੋੜ ਹੈ।
ਪੱਤਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਾਹੁਲ ਗਾਂਧੀ ਨੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਦਰਿਆਦਿਲੀ ਅਤੇ ਹੌਸਲੇ ਦੀ ਵੀ ਸ਼ਲਾਘਾ ਕੀਤੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੁਸੀਬਤ ਦੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਜਨਬੀਆਂ ਲਈ ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰ ਖੋਲ੍ਹ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਅਤੇ ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਵੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕੋਲ ਸੀ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਂਝਾ ਕੀਤਾ। ਇਸ ਦਰਿਆਦਿਲੀ ਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਮਨੁੱਖਤਾ ਦਾ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵਧੀਆ ਰੂਪ ਦੱਸਿਆ, ਜੋ ਅਕਸਰ ਵੱਡੇ ਜੋਖਮ ਦੇ ਬਾਵਜੂਦ ਵੀ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਆਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਕੇਂਦਰ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਦੇ 1,600 ਕਰੋੜ ਦੇ ਰਾਹਤ ਪੈਕੇਜ ਦੀ ਆਲੋਚਨਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਨੂੰ ਹੋਏ ਨੁਕਸਾਨ ਦੀ ਤੁਲਨਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਹ ਰਕਮ ਬਹੁਤ ਘੱਟ ਹੈ। ਅਨੁਮਾਨਾਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ, ਪੰਜਾਬ ਨੂੰ 20,000 ਕਰੋੜ ਰੁਪਏ ਦਾ ਨੁਕਸਾਨ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ। ਰਾਹੁਲ ਗਾਂਧੀ ਨੇ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਜਲਦੀ ਨੁਕਸਾਨ ਦਾ ਮੁਲਾਂਕਣ ਕਰਨ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਰਾਹਤ ਪੈਕੇਜ ਜਾਰੀ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਅਪੀਲ ਕੀਤੀ।
ਪੱਤਰ ਦੇ ਅੰਤ ਵਿੱਚ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭਰੋਸਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਕਿ ਸੂਬਾ ਮੁੜ ਉੱਠੇਗਾ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਮੁਸੀਬਤ ਦੀ ਘੜੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਾਰੇ ਭਾਰਤ ਨੂੰ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਕਿਸਾਨਾਂ, ਸਿਪਾਹੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਖੜ੍ਹਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਸੂਬੇ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਭਵਿੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਮੁੜ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਹਰ ਸੰਭਵ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਮੰਗ ਕੀਤੀ।
Rahul Gandhi, the Congress leader and Leader of the Opposition, has written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, urging for substantial financial aid for Punjab’s flood-affected areas. He called the central government’s announced relief package of 1,600 crore rupees insufficient, labeling it a “great injustice” to the people of Punjab. In his letter, Gandhi demanded at least 20,000 crore rupees in financial aid to address the massive losses caused by the Punjab floods.
During his recent visit to Punjab’s flood-hit regions, Gandhi described the devastation as “shocking.” He highlighted in his letter that over 4 lakh acres of paddy crops were destroyed, more than 10 lakh animals perished, and millions of families lost their homes. Many of these families belong to marginalized communities, which have been the hardest hit by this flood disaster.
Gandhi stated that the scale of the flood damage was so severe that several villages were completely cut off from one another. Agricultural land has become unfit for farming, with thousands of acres still submerged in water. He emphasized that the central government needs to take bold and swift action to address this crisis.
In his letter, Gandhi also praised the generosity and resilience of Punjab’s people. He noted how they opened their homes to strangers and shared whatever they had during this difficult time. He described this generosity as the finest example of humanity, often displayed despite great personal risk.
Criticizing the central government’s 1,600 crore relief package, Gandhi argued that it was far too small compared to the extent of the flood damage. Estimates suggest that Punjab has suffered losses of at least 20,000 crore rupees. Gandhi urged the government to quickly assess the damage and provide a comprehensive relief package to support the state’s recovery.
At the end of his letter, Gandhi expressed confidence that Punjab would rise again. He stressed that in this hour of need, the entire nation must stand with Punjab’s farmers, soldiers, and families. He called on the government to provide every possible assistance to help rebuild the future of Punjab’s flood victims.
