ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ ਦੀ ਇੱਕ ਅਦਾਲਤ ਨੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵੇਅਰਹਾਊਸਿੰਗ ਕਾਰਪੋਰੇਸ਼ਨ ਦੇ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀ ਗਗਨਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਰੰਧਾਵਾ ਦੀ ਖੁਦਕੁਸ਼ੀ ਦੇ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਗ੍ਰਿਫ਼ਤਾਰ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ ਸਾਬਕਾ ਕੈਬਨਿਟ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਲਾਲਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਭੁੱਲਰ ਦੇ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਰਿਮਾਂਡ ਵਿੱਚ ਤਿੰਨ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਹੋਰ ਵਾਧਾ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ। ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੇ ਅਦਾਲਤ ਨੂੰ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਦੀ ਡੂੰਘਾਈ ਨਾਲ ਜਾਂਚ ਕਰਨ ਅਤੇ ਕੁਝ ਅਹਿਮ ਦਸਤਾਵੇਜ਼ ਬਰਾਮਦ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਹੋਰ ਪੁੱਛਗਿੱਛ ਦੀ ਲੋੜ ਹੈ।

ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੇ ਅਦਾਲਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਲੀਲ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਕਿ ਰੰਧਾਵਾ ਦੀ ਮੌਤ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹੋਈ ਗੱਲਬਾਤ ਅਤੇ ਕਥਿਤ ਮਾਨਸਿਕ ਪਰੇਸ਼ਾਨੀ ਦੇ ਸਬੂਤ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਸਾਬਕਾ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਤੋਂ ਹੋਰ ਸਵਾਲ-ਜਵਾਬ ਕਰਨੇ ਬਾਕੀ ਹਨ। ਜਾਂਚ ਟੀਮ ਦਾ ਮੰਨਣਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਦੀਆਂ ਤਾਰਾਂ ਕੁਝ ਹੋਰ ਉੱਚ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਵੀ ਜੁੜੀਆਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਰਿਮਾਂਡ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਭੁੱਲਰ ਦੇ ਮੋਬਾਈਲ ਡੇਟਾ ਅਤੇ ਪਿਛਲੇ ਕੁਝ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਰਗਰਮੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਬਾਰੀਕੀ ਨਾਲ ਪੜਤਾਲ ਕਰੇਗੀ।
ਦੂਜੇ ਪਾਸੇ, ਲਾਲਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਭੁੱਲਰ ਦੇ ਵਕੀਲਾਂ ਨੇ ਅਦਾਲਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਸਾਰਾ ਮਾਮਲਾ ਸਿਆਸਤ ਤੋਂ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੁਵੱਕਿਲ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣਬੁੱਝ ਕੇ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨਾ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾਅਵਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਕੋਲ ਕੋਈ ਪੁਖਤਾ ਸਬੂਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਰਿਮਾਂਡ ਵਧਾਉਣਾ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਪ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਾਨ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਜ਼ਰੀਏ ਹੈ। ਹਾਲਾਂਕਿ, ਅਦਾਲਤ ਨੇ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਦੀ ਗੰਭੀਰਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਖਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਪੁੱਛਗਿੱਛ ਲਈ ਹੋਰ ਸਮਾਂ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
The troubles for former minister Laljit Singh Bhullar have escalated in the high-profile suicide case of warehousing official Gagandeep Singh Randhawa. During a court appearance in Amritsar today, the police requested an extension of Bhullar's remand, which the honorable court granted, sending him to police custody for an additional three days.
The police argued in court that further interrogation is necessary to gather evidence regarding the conversations and alleged mental harassment Randhawa faced prior to his death. The investigation team believes that the links of this case may extend to several other high-ranking officials. During the remand period, the police will meticulously examine Bhullar's mobile data and his activities over the past few days.
On the other hand, Laljit Singh Bhullar's lawyers stated in court that the entire case is politically motivated and their client is being deliberately targeted. They claimed that the police lack solid evidence and that extending the remand is merely a tool for harassment. However, considering the gravity of the case, the court provided the police more time for questioning.
