ਵਿਆਹ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਮੁੰਡਿਆਂ ਲਈ ਡੋਪ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਡੀਕਲ ਟੈਸਟ ਹੋਣ ਲਾਜ਼ਮੀ: ਮਲਵਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਕੰਗ
ਆਮ ਆਦਮੀ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਦੇ ਸੀਨੀਅਰ ਆਗੂ ਅਤੇ ਸੰਸਦ ਮੈਂਬਰ ਮਲਵਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਕੰਗ ਨੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਵਧਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ ਨੂੰ ਰੋਕਣ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਵੱਡਾ ਸੁਝਾਅ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ। ਕੰਗ ਨੇ ਮੰਗ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਵਿਆਹ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਲੜਕਿਆਂ ਲਈ ਡੋਪ ਟੈਸਟ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਜ਼ਰੂਰੀ ਮੈਡੀਕਲ ਟੈਸਟ ਲਾਜ਼ਮੀ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾਣੇ ਚਾਹੀਦੇ ਹਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ, ਇਹ ਕਦਮ ਨਾ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਨਵੀਂ ਪੀੜ੍ਹੀ ਨੂੰ ਨਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾਏਗਾ, ਸਗੋਂ ਪਰਿਵਾਰਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਾਰਦਰਸ਼ਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਸਿਹਤ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਯਕੀਨੀ ਬਣਾਏਗਾ।
ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਗੰਭੀਰ ਸਮੱਸਿਆ ਨਾਲ ਨਜਿੱਠਣ ਲਈ ਹੁਣ ਸਿਆਸੀ ਗਲਿਆਰਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਨਵੀਂ ਅਤੇ ਦਲੇਰਾਨਾ ਮੰਗ ਉੱਠੀ ਹੈ। ਆਮ ਆਦਮੀ ਪਾਰਟੀ (AAP) ਦੇ ਸੰਸਦ ਮੈਂਬਰ ਮਲਵਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਕੰਗ ਨੇ ਸਮਾਜਿਕ ਸੁਧਾਰ ਦੀ ਦਿਸ਼ਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਅਹਿਮ ਕਦਮ ਚੁੱਕਦਿਆਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਸੂਬੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਆਹ ਕਰਵਾਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਹਰ ਨੌਜਵਾਨ ਲਈ ਡੋਪ ਟੈਸਟ (Dope Test) ਲਾਜ਼ਮੀ ਕਰ ਦੇਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਕੰਗ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਬਿਆਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਅੱਜ ਦੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਨਸ਼ੇ ਦੀ ਦਲਦਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਫਸੇ ਨੌਜਵਾਨਾਂ ਕਾਰਨ ਬਰਬਾਦ ਹੋ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ। ਅਕਸਰ ਦੇਖਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਵਿਆਹ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਜਦੋਂ ਲੜਕੀ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਲੜਕੇ ਦੇ ਨਸ਼ੇੜੀ ਹੋਣ ਬਾਰੇ ਪਤਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਘਰ ਟੁੱਟਣ ਦੀ ਨੌਬਤ ਆ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ, ਜੇਕਰ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਵਿਆਹ ਦੀ ਰਜਿਸਟ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਨ ਜਾਂ ਰਸਮਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਮੈਡੀਕਲ ਅਤੇ ਡੋਪ ਟੈਸਟ ਦੀ ਰਿਪੋਰਟ ਲਾਜ਼ਮੀ ਕਰ ਦਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਇਸ ਨਾਲ ਪਾਰਦਰਸ਼ਤਾ ਵਧੇਗੀ ਅਤੇ ਕਈ ਧੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਬਚ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ, ਮਲਵਿੰਦਰ ਕੰਗ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਨਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਤੱਕ ਹੀ ਸੀਮਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ, ਸਗੋਂ ਹੋਰ ਗੰਭੀਰ ਬਿਮਾਰੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਜਾਂਚ ਲਈ ਵੀ ਮੈਡੀਕਲ ਟੈਸਟ ਜ਼ਰੂਰੀ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾਣੇ ਚਾਹੀਦੇ ਹਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਸਮਾਜਿਕ ਜਥੇਬੰਦੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਪੰਚਾਇਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਅਪੀਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੱਧਰ 'ਤੇ ਇਸ ਮੁਹਿੰਮ ਨੂੰ ਅੱਗੇ ਵਧਾਉਣ। ਕੰਗ ਦਾ ਮੰਨਣਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਕਰਨ ਨਾਲ ਨੌਜਵਾਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਪ੍ਰਤੀ ਡਰ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਇੱਕ ਸਿਹਤਮੰਦ ਜੀਵਨ ਸ਼ੈਲੀ ਵੱਲ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤ ਹੋਣਗੇ।
ਇਸ ਮੰਗ 'ਤੇ ਸੋਸ਼ਲ ਮੀਡੀਆ ਅਤੇ ਸਿਆਸੀ ਹਲਕਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਿਲੀ-ਜੁਲੀ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਕਿਰਿਆ ਦੇਖਣ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ। ਜਿੱਥੇ ਕਈ ਲੋਕ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਇਨਕਲਾਬੀ ਕਦਮ ਦੱਸ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ, ਉੱਥੇ ਹੀ ਕੁਝ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਨਿੱਜੀ ਆਜ਼ਾਦੀ ਨਾਲ ਜੋੜ ਕੇ ਵੀ ਦੇਖ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ।
In a bid to tackle the severe drug problem in Punjab, a new and bold demand has emerged from political circles. Malwinder Singh Kang, a Member of Parliament from the Am Aadmi Party (AAP), has suggested a significant step toward social reform by stating that a dope test should be made mandatory for every young man getting married in the state.
Kang emphasized in his statement that many families are currently being ruined because of youth trapped in the quagmire of drugs. It is often observed that when a girl's family discovers the groom’s addiction after marriage, it leads to the collapse of the home. According to him, if the government mandates medical and dope test reports before marriage registration or rituals, it will increase transparency and save the lives of many daughters.
Furthermore, Malwinder Kang mentioned that this should not be limited only to drugs; medical tests for other serious illnesses should also be made necessary. He appealed to social organizations and village panchayats to carry this campaign forward at their levels. Kang believes that such a move will create a deterrent against drugs among the youth and inspire them toward a healthier lifestyle.
This demand has elicited mixed reactions across social media and political spheres. While many call it a revolutionary step, some view it through the lens of personal privacy.
