ਮਨੁੱਖੀ ਅਧਿਕਾਰ ਸੰਗਠਨ ਦੇ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ, ਦੋ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਝੜਪਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੁੱਲ 200 ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਮੌਤ ਹੋਈ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਗਭਗ 140 ਮੌਤਾਂ ਮਸੂਲ ਹੋਈਆਂ। ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮੌਤਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਸੀਰੀਅਨ ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਫੌਜਾਂ ਦੇ ਘੱਟ ਤੋਂ ਘੱਟ 50 ਕਰਮੀ ਅਤੇ ਅਸਦ ਦੇ ਵਫ਼ਾਦਾਰ 45 ਲੜਾਕੇ ਸ਼ਾਮਿਲ ਹਨ।
In recent clashes between fighters supporting Syria’s new government and supporters of deposed President Bashar al-Assad, hundreds of people lost their lives on Thursday and Friday. According to the British human rights organization, the “Syrian Observatory for Human Rights,” these attacks were launched by Assad loyalists in retaliation against assaults on government security forces. The violence initially erupted in several villages on Wednesday and continued on Friday.
Reports indicate that the clashes began when government forces attempted to arrest a local troublemaker near the coastal city of Jabla on Wednesday, prompting Assad supporters to retaliate with brutal force. Subsequently, fighters loyal to the new government attacked areas including Shir, Mukhataria, and Hafah villages, resulting in 69 fatalities in one incident—while no women were reported injured in that particular attack. Beirut-based Al-Maidin TV also reported that in one of the affected villages, Mukhataria, more than 30 people were killed in the assault.
According to the human rights organization, the two-day violence claimed over 200 lives in total, including approximately 140 civilians, at least 50 personnel from the Syrian government forces, and 45 fighters loyal to Assad.
Additional details from recent intelligence suggest that the violence is part of an escalating series of reprisals between opposing factions in the region, with the situation remaining highly volatile. Local sources indicate that international observers have called for an urgent ceasefire to prevent further loss of life.
