ਪੰਜਾਬ 'ਚ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਲਈ ਮੁਫ਼ਤ ਸਫ਼ਰ ਦੇ ਨਿਯਮ ਬਦਲੇ: ਆਧਾਰ ਕਾਰਡ ਦੀ ਥਾਂ ਹੁਣ ਬਣਨਗੇ 'ਸਮਾਰਟ ਕਾਰਡ', ਜਾਣੋ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ ਰਜਿਸਟ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਨ
ਪੰਜਾਬ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੇ ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਬੱਸਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਲਈ ਮੁਫ਼ਤ ਸਫ਼ਰ ਦੀ ਸਹੂਲਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੱਡਾ ਬਦਲਾਅ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਫੈਸਲਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ। ਹੁਣ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੁਫ਼ਤ ਸਫ਼ਰ ਲਈ ਆਧਾਰ ਕਾਰਡ ਦਿਖਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਲੋੜ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਵੇਗੀ, ਬਲਕਿ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ 'ਸਮਾਰਟ ਕਾਰਡ' ਜਾਰੀ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾਣਗੇ। ਇਹ ਫੈਸਲਾ ਮੁਫ਼ਤ ਸਫ਼ਰ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਹੁੰਦੀਆਂ ਦਿੱਕਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਘਟਾਉਣ ਅਤੇ ਡਾਟਾ ਨੂੰ ਸਹੀ ਢੰਗ ਨਾਲ ਮੈਨੇਜ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਲਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ
ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਬੱਸਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੁਫ਼ਤ ਸਫ਼ਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਅਹਿਮ ਖ਼ਬਰ ਹੈ। ਸੂਬਾ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਸਹੂਲਤ ਨੂੰ ਹੋਰ ਪਾਰਦਰਸ਼ੀ ਅਤੇ ਸੁਵਿਧਾਜਨਕ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਨਵੀਂ ਪ੍ਰਕਿਰਿਆ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਐਲਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ। ਹੁਣ ਤੱਕ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬੱਸਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਫ਼ਰ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਆਪਣਾ ਆਧਾਰ ਕਾਰਡ ਦਿਖਾਉਣਾ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਸੀ, ਪਰ ਆਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਸ ਦੀ ਥਾਂ 'ਸਮਾਰਟ ਕਾਰਡ' (Smart Cards) ਲੈ ਲੈਣਗੇ।
ਕਿਉਂ ਪਈ ਸਮਾਰਟ ਕਾਰਡ ਦੀ ਲੋੜ? ਟਰਾਂਸਪੋਰਟ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ, ਆਧਾਰ ਕਾਰਡ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਸਫ਼ਰ ਕਰਨ ਵੇਲੇ ਕਈ ਵਾਰ ਤਕਨੀਕੀ ਦਿੱਕਤਾਂ ਆਉਂਦੀਆਂ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਕਈ ਵਾਰ ਡਾਟਾ ਦੀ ਗੜਬੜੀ ਕਾਰਨ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਅਸਲ ਲਾਭਪਾਤਰੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਦਾ ਪਤਾ ਲਗਾਉਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੁਸ਼ਕਲ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਸੀ। ਸਮਾਰਟ ਕਾਰਡ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਚਿੱਪ ਲੱਗੀ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ, ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਕੰਡਕਟਰ ਦੀ ਮਸ਼ੀਨ 'ਤੇ ਸਵਾਈਪ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਹੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦਰਜ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ। ਇਸ ਨਾਲ ਨਾ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਸਮੇਂ ਦੀ ਬਚਤ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ, ਬਲਕਿ ਜਾਅਲੀ ਕਾਰਡਾਂ ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ 'ਤੇ ਵੀ ਰੋਕ ਲੱਗੇਗੀ।
ਕਿਵੇਂ ਬਣਨਗੇ ਇਹ ਕਾਰਡ? ਸਰਕਾਰ ਜਲਦੀ ਹੀ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਾਰਡਾਂ ਦੀ ਰਜਿਸਟ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਨ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਪੋਰਟਲ ਅਤੇ ਮੋਬਾਈਲ ਐਪ ਲਾਂਚ ਕਰੇਗੀ। ਔਰਤਾਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਜ਼ਦੀਕੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕੇਂਦਰਾਂ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਵੀ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਅਪਲਾਈ ਕਰ ਸਕਣਗੀਆਂ। ਸ਼ੁਰੂਆਤੀ ਪੜਾਅ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਧਾਰ ਕਾਰਡ ਵੀ ਚੱਲਦਾ ਰਹੇਗਾ, ਪਰ ਹੌਲੀ-ਹੌਲੀ ਸਮਾਰਟ ਕਾਰਡ ਨੂੰ ਲਾਜ਼ਮੀ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ। ਇਸ ਕਦਮ ਨਾਲ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਾਰ-ਵਾਰ ਪਛਾਣ ਪੱਤਰ ਦਿਖਾਉਣ ਦੇ ਝੰਜਟ ਤੋਂ ਮੁਕਤੀ ਮਿਲੇਗੀ, ਉੱਥੇ ਹੀ ਟਰਾਂਸਪੋਰਟ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਕੋਲ ਵੀ ਸਫ਼ਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਹੀ ਰਿਕਾਰਡ ਰਹੇਗਾ।
In a significant move, the Punjab Government has decided to introduce a new system for the free bus travel facility available to women in state-run buses. Moving away from the current practice of showing Aadhaar cards for verification, the government will now issue dedicated Smart Cards to all eligible female passengers.
Why the shift to Smart Cards? According to the Transport Department, relying solely on Aadhaar cards often led to technical glitches and made it difficult for the government to accurately track the number of beneficiaries. The new Smart Cards will feature an embedded chip. When swiped on the conductor’s ticketing machine, it will instantly record the journey details. This system aims to save time, prevent the use of fraudulent identity proofs, and streamline the data management process.
How to get the card? The government plans to launch a dedicated web portal and a mobile application for the registration of these cards soon. Women will also be able to apply through their nearest Sewa Kendras. While the Aadhaar card will remain valid during the initial transition period, the Smart Card will eventually become mandatory. This initiative is expected to reduce the hassle for women passengers while providing the Transport Department with accurate analytics of bus occupancy and usage patterns. This development is a key part of the Punjab Government schemes 2026.
