ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਅਫਗਾਨਿਸਤਾਨ ਵਿਚਕਾਰ ਪਿਛਲੇ ਕਈ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਚੱਲ ਰਿਹਾ ਸਰਹੱਦੀ ਟਕਰਾਅ ਅੱਜ ਖਤਮ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਦੋਵੇਂ ਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਨੇ 48 ਘੰਟਿਆਂ ਲਈ ਅਸਥਾਈ ਜੰਗਬੰਦੀ ’ਤੇ ਸਹਿਮਤੀ ظਾਹਰ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨ ਦੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਅੱਜ ਸ਼ਾਮ 6 ਵਜੇ ਤੋਂ ਲੱਗੂ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ। ਇਸ ਟਕਰਾਅ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਰਜਨਾਂ ਲੋਕ ਮਾਰੇ ਗਏ ਅਤੇ ਸੈਂਕੜੇ ਜ਼ਖ਼ਮੀ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ। ਦੋਵਾਂ ਪਾਸਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਇੱਕ ਦੂਜੇ ’ਤੇ ਗੋਲੀਬਾਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਹਮਲਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਦੋਸ਼ ਲਗਾਏ ਹਨ। ਇਹ ਝੜਪਾਂ ਮੁੱਖ ਤੌਰ ’ਤੇ ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨ ਦੇ ਚਮਨ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਅਤੇ ਅਫਗਾਨਿਸਤਾਨ ਦੇ ਸਪਿਨ ਬੋਲਦਕ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਵਿਚਕਾਰ ਹੋਈਆਂ ਹਨ। ਅਫਗਾਨਿਸਤਾਨ ਨੇ ਦਾਅਵਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਵਿੱਚ 58 ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨੀ ਸੈਨਿਕ ਮਾਰੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ, ਜਦੋਂ ਕਿ ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਨੇ 200 ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਅਫਗਾਨ ਸੈਨਿਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ 23 ਸੈਨਿਕ ਗੁਆਏ ਹਨ।
ਅਫਗਾਨ ਤਾਲਿਬਾਨ ਨੇ ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨ ’ਤੇ ਭਾਰੀ ਦੋਸ਼ ਲਗਾਏ ਹਨ। ਤਾਲਿਬਾਨ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨ ਨੇ ਬੁੱਧਵਾਰ ਸਵੇਰੇ ਕੰਧਾਰ ਸੂਬੇ ਦੇ ਸਪਿਨ ਬੋਲਦਕ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਮਲਾ ਕੀਤਾ, ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ 12 ਨਾਗਰਿਕ ਮਾਰੇ ਗਏ ਅਤੇ 100 ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਲੋਕ ਜ਼ਖ਼ਮੀ ਹੋ ਗਏ। ਤਾਲਿਬਾਨ ਦੇ ਬੁਲਾਰੇ ਜ਼ਬੀਹੁੱਲਾ ਮੁਜਾਹਿਦ ਨੇ ਸੋਸ਼ਲ ਮੀਡੀਆ ’ਤੇ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਕਿ ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨੀ ਫੌਜ ਨੇ ਹਲਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਭਾਰੀ ਹਥਿਆਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਹਮਲਾ ਕੀਤਾ, ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਅਫਗਾਨ ਫੌਜ ਨੂੰ ਜਵਾਬੀ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਮਜਬੂਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਦਾਅਵਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿ ਅਫਗਾਨ ਫੌਜ ਨੇ ਕਈ ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨੀ ਸੈਨਿਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਚੌਕੀਆਂ ਤੇ ਟੈਂਕਾਂ ’ਤੇ ਕਬਜ਼ਾ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ। ਤਾਲਿਬਾਨ ਨੇ ਇੱਕ ਵੀਡੀਓ ਵੀ ਜਾਰੀ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਥਿਤ ਤੌਰ ’ਤੇ ਮਾਰੇ ਗਏ ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨੀ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਰਮਚਾਰੀਆਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਲਾਸ਼ਾਂ ਵਿਖਾਈਆਂ ਗਈਆਂ ਹਨ। ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ, ਜੰਗਬੰਦੀ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਕਾਬੁਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਵਿਸਫੋਟ ਹੋਏ, ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਘੱਟੋ-ਘੱਟ 5 ਲੋਕ ਮਾਰੇ ਗਏ ਅਤੇ 35 ਜ਼ਖ਼ਮੀ ਹੋਏ।

Both sides have accused each other of initiating gunfire and attacks. The clashes primarily occurred in Pakistan's Chaman district and Afghanistan's Spin Boldak district. Afghanistan claimed that 58 Pakistani soldiers were killed, while Pakistan stated that it eliminated over 200 Afghan soldiers and lost 23 of its own troops.
The Afghan Taliban has leveled serious accusations against Pakistan. The Taliban stated that Pakistan launched an attack on Spin Boldak district in Kandahar province early Wednesday morning, killing 12 civilians and injuring over 100 people. Taliban spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid wrote on social media that Pakistani forces used light and heavy weapons in the assault, forcing Afghan troops to respond in self-defense. He claimed that Afghan forces killed several Pakistani soldiers and captured their checkpoints and tanks. The Taliban also released a video purportedly showing the bodies of slain Pakistani security personnel. Additionally, explosions in Kabul before the ceasefire killed at least 5 people and injured 35 others.
Pakistan has described the ceasefire as a step to open channels for dialogue. The Pakistani Foreign Ministry issued a statement saying that both countries will make serious efforts to resolve this complex issue through talks. The ministry stated that the purpose of the ceasefire is to encourage diplomatic contacts and prevent further loss of life and property. It aims to reduce enmity and pave the way for discussions following the recent border fighting. Pakistan said the ceasefire was at Afghanistan's request, but the Taliban claimed it was at Pakistan's insistence. The Taliban has instructed all its forces to adhere to the ceasefire "as long as no one violates it." Earlier, Pakistan had also conducted airstrikes in Afghanistan, which the Taliban described as attacks on civilians. The United Nations has expressed concern over civilian casualties in these clashes and appealed for an end to further hostilities. This conflict is also linked to rising militant attacks in Pakistan, with accusations that Afghanistan harbors terrorists—a charge denied by the Taliban.
