ਇਨਫੋਰਸਮੈਂਟ ਡਾਇਰੈਕਟੋਰੇਟ (ED) ਨੇ ਗੈਰ-ਕਾਨੂੰਨੀ ਆਫਸ਼ੋਰ ਸੱਟੇਬਾਜ਼ੀ ਪਲੇਟਫਾਰਮ 1xBet ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜੇ ਮਨੀ ਲਾਂਡਰਿੰਗ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੱਡੀ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਸਾਬਕਾ ਕ੍ਰਿਕਟਰ ਯੁਵਰਾਜ ਸਿੰਘ, ਰੋਬਿਨ ਉਥੱਪਾ, ਅਤੇ ਅਦਾਕਾਰ ਸੋਨੂੰ ਸੂਦ ਸਮੇਤ ਕਈ ਮਸ਼ਹੂਰ ਹਸਤੀਆਂ ਦੀ 7.93 ਕਰੋੜ ਰੁਪਏ ਦੀ ਜਾਇਦਾਦ ਜ਼ਬਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ। ED ਅਨੁਸਾਰ, ਇਹ ਹਸਤੀਆਂ ਕਥਿਤ ਤੌਰ 'ਤੇ 'ਸਰੋਗੇਟ' ਬ੍ਰਾਂਡਾਂ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਇਸ ਸੱਟੇਬਾਜ਼ੀ ਐਪ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਚਾਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਸਨ। ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਸ਼ਿਖਰ ਧਵਨ ਅਤੇ ਸੁਰੇਸ਼ ਰੈਨਾ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਵੀ ਅਜਿਹੀ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾ ਚੁੱਕੀ ਹੈ
ਇਨਫੋਰਸਮੈਂਟ ਡਾਇਰੈਕਟੋਰੇਟ (ED) ਨੇ ਸ਼ੁੱਕਰਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਵੱਡੇ ਮਨੀ ਲਾਂਡਰਿੰਗ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਸਾਬਕਾ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਕਟਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਬਾਲੀਵੁੱਡ ਸਿਤਾਰਿਆਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਜਾਇਦਾਦਾਂ ਜ਼ਬਤ ਕਰ ਲਈਆਂ ਹਨ। ਇਹ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਗੈਰ-ਕਾਨੂੰਨੀ ਸੱਟੇਬਾਜ਼ੀ ਪਲੇਟਫਾਰਮ 1xBet ਦੀ ਜਾਂਚ ਦੇ ਸਬੰਧ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ।
ਜ਼ਬਤ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਗਈਆਂ ਜਾਇਦਾਦਾਂ ਦੀ ਕੁੱਲ ਕੀਮਤ 7.93 ਕਰੋੜ ਰੁਪਏ ਦੱਸੀ ਜਾ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ। ED ਵੱਲੋਂ ਜਾਰੀ ਬਿਆਨ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ, ਇਸ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਦੀ ਲਪੇਟ ਵਿੱਚ ਯੁਵਰਾਜ ਸਿੰਘ (2.5 ਕਰੋੜ), ਸੋਨੂੰ ਸੂਦ (1 ਕਰੋੜ), ਰੋਬਿਨ ਉਥੱਪਾ (8.26 ਲੱਖ), ਅਦਾਕਾਰਾ ਉਰਵਸ਼ੀ ਰੌਤੇਲਾ (ਉਸਦੀ ਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਂ 'ਤੇ 2.02 ਕਰੋੜ) ਅਤੇ ਸਾਬਕਾ ਸੰਸਦ ਮੈਂਬਰ ਮੀਮੀ ਚੱਕਰਵਰਤੀ (59 ਲੱਖ) ਆਏ ਹਨ।
ਜਾਂਚ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਆਇਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਹਸਤੀਆਂ ਨੇ 1xBet ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਚਾਰ ਲਈ ਵਿਦੇਸ਼ੀ ਕੰਪਨੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਸਮਝੌਤੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਸਨ। ED ਦਾ ਦਾਅਵਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਚਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਦਲੇ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਗਈ ਰਕਮ ਸੱਟੇਬਾਜ਼ੀ ਵਰਗੇ ਅਪਰਾਧਿਕ ਕਾਰਜਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਕਮਾਈ ਗਈ ਸੀ, ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਲੁਕਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਵਿਦੇਸ਼ੀ ਮਾਧਿਅਮਾਂ ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ। ਏਜੰਸੀ ਨੇ ਚੇਤਾਵਨੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਗੈਰ-ਕਾਨੂੰਨੀ ਸੱਟੇਬਾਜ਼ੀ ਪਲੇਟਫਾਰਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਚਾਰ ਕਰਨਾ ਕਾਨੂੰਨੀ ਜੁਰਮ ਹੈ
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Friday took major action in a high-profile money laundering case by attaching the assets of former Indian cricketers and Bollywood stars. This move is part of the ongoing investigation into the illegal offshore betting platform 1xBet.
The total value of the attached assets is reported to be Rs 7.93 crore. According to the statement released by the ED, the celebrities affected by this action include Yuvraj Singh (Rs 2.5 crore), Sonu Sood (Rs 1 crore), Robin Uthappa (Rs 8.26 lakh), actress Urvashi Rautela (Rs 2.02 crore in her mother's name), and former MP Mimi Chakraborty (Rs 59 lakh).
The investigation revealed that these celebrities had entered into endorsement agreements with foreign entities to promote 1xBet. The ED claims that the payments received for these endorsements were generated from criminal activities like illegal betting, and foreign intermediaries were used to conceal the illicit origin of the funds. The agency has warned that promoting illegal betting platforms is a punishable offense.
