ਚੰਡੀਗੜ੍ਹ ਗ੍ਰਨੇਡ ਹਮਲਾ: ਰਿੰਦਾ-ਹੈਪੀ ਦੇ ਸਾਥੀ ਅਭੀਜੋਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੂੰ ਐੱਨਆਈਏ ਨੇ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਾਬੂ
ਐੱਨਆਈਏ ਨੇ ਚੰਡੀਗੜ੍ਹ ਗ੍ਰਨੇਡ ਹਮਲੇ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਗੁਰਦਾਸਪੁਰ ਦੇ ਅਭੀਜੋਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੂੰ ਗ੍ਰਿਫ਼ਤਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਰਿੰਦਾ ਤੇ ਹੈਪੀ ਪਾਸੀਆ ਨਾਲ ਸਿੱਧੇ ਸੰਪਰਕ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੀ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਹਮਲੇ ਦੀ ਯੋਜਨਾ ਬਣਾ ਕੇ ਟਿਕਾਣਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਰੇਕੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਚੋਰੀ ਦੀ ਮੋਟਰਸਾਈਕਲ ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਕੀਤੀ। ਅਭੀਜੋਤ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਸਤੌਲ ਵੀ ਮੁਹੱਈਆ ਕਰਵਾਈ ਗਈ ਸੀ। ਇਹ ਗ੍ਰਿਫ਼ਤਾਰੀ ਇੱਕ ਵੱਡੀ ਕਾਮਯਾਬੀ ਮੰਨੀ ਜਾ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ।
ਕੌਮੀ ਜਾਂਚ ਏਜੰਸੀ (NIA) ਨੇ ਚੰਡੀਗੜ੍ਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੋਏ ਗ੍ਰਨੇਡ ਹਮਲੇ ਦੀ ਜਾਂਚ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਇਕ ਹੋਰ ਵੱਡੀ ਕਾਮਯਾਬੀ ਹਾਸਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ। ਏਜੰਸੀ ਨੇ ਗੁਰਦਾਸਪੁਰ ਦੇ ਵਸਨੀਕ ਅਭੀਜੋਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੂੰ ਗ੍ਰਿਫ਼ਤਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਉੱਤੇ ਵਿਦੇਸ਼ ਬੈਠੇ ਬੱਬਰ ਖਾਲਸਾ ਇੰਟਰਨੈਸ਼ਨਲ (BKI) ਦੇ ਅੱਤਵਾਦੀਆਂ ਰਿੰਦਾ ਤੇ ਹੈਪੀ ਪਾਸੀਆ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਚੰਡੀਗੜ੍ਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਾਜ਼ਿਸ਼ ਰਚਣ ਦਾ ਦੋਸ਼ ਹੈ।
ਐੱਨਆਈਏ ਦੀ ਜਾਂਚ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਤਾ ਲੱਗਾ ਕਿ ਅਭੀਜੋਤ ਸਿੱਧਾ ਹੈਪੀ ਪਾਸੀਆ ਦੇ ਸੰਪਰਕ ਵਿਚ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਹਦਾਇਤ 'ਤੇ ਉਹ ਚੰਡੀਗੜ੍ਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਮਲੇ ਦੀ ਤਿਆਰੀ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ। ਰਿਪੋਰਟਾਂ ਮੁਤਾਬਕ, ਅਭੀਜੋਤ ਨੇ ਜੁਲਾਈ ਅਤੇ ਅਗਸਤ 2024 ਵਿੱਚ ਹਮਲੇ ਵਾਲੀ ਥਾਂ ਦੀ ਰੇਕੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ। ਇਸੇ ਦੌਰਾਨ, ਉਸ ਨੇ ਇਕ ਚੋਰੀ ਦੀ ਮੋਟਰਸਾਈਕਲ, ਜਿਸ ਉੱਤੇ ਨਕਲੀ ਨੰਬਰ ਪਲੇਟ ਲਾਈ ਗਈ ਸੀ, ਦਾ ਵੀ ਇੰਤਜ਼ਾਮ ਕੀਤਾ।
ਹੈਪੀ ਪਾਸੀਆ ਨੇ ਅਗਸਤ ਮਹੀਨੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਭੀਜੋਤ ਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਇਕ ਗ੍ਰਿਫ਼ਤਾਰ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਰੋਹਨ ਮਸੀਹ ਨੂੰ ਹਥਿਆਰ ਵੀ ਮੁਹੱਈਆ ਕਰਵਾਏ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੋਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਡੀਗੜ੍ਹ ਦੇ ਸੈਕਟਰ 10 ਵਿੱਚ ਇਕ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨੇ 'ਤੇ ਹਮਲਾ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਹਦਾਇਤ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਗਈ ਸੀ। ਦੋ ਵਾਰ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਹੋਈ ਪਰ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਕਸਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਾਮਯਾਬ ਨਾ ਹੋਏ।
ਇਸ ਗ੍ਰਿਫ਼ਤਾਰੀ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਐੱਨਆਈਏ ਨੇ ਹਰਿਆਣਾ ਦੇ ਕਰਨਾਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਇਕ ਟਿਕਾਣੇ 'ਤੇ ਛਾਪੇਮਾਰੀ ਕਰਕੇ ਹੋਰ ਸ਼ੱਕੀ ਵਿਅਕਤੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਪਛਾਣ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕੀਤੀ। ਇਸ ਕੇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹੀ ਰਿੰਦਾ, ਜੋ ਕਿ ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੈਠਾ ਦਹਿਸ਼ਤਗਰਦ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਹੈਪੀ ਪਾਸੀਆ ਨੂੰ ਭਗੌੜਾ ਘੋਸ਼ਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਚੁੱਕਾ ਹੈ।
ਇਹ ਕੇਸ ਪੰਜਾਬ 'ਚ ਵਧ ਰਹੀ ਅੱਤਵਾਦੀ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀ ਦੀ ਨਵੀਂ ਉਦਾਹਰਣ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਕਾਨੂੰਨੀ ਏਜੰਸੀਆਂ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਵੱਡੀ ਚੁਣੌਤੀ ਬਣੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ।
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested a sixth accused, Abhijot Singh from Gurdaspur, in connection with the Chandigarh grenade attack case. He is believed to have played a crucial role in the conspiracy, which was allegedly orchestrated by terrorist leaders Harvinder Singh Sandhu alias Rinda (based in Pakistan) and Harpreet Singh alias Happy Pasia (believed to be residing in the US), both affiliated with Babbar Khalsa International (BKI).
Abhijot was already in jail in connection with a separate grenade attack on a police station and came under the scanner during NIA’s broader investigation. Reports suggest that he maintained direct contact with Happy Pasia and, under his instructions, conducted multiple recces at the target location in July and August 2024.
He also arranged a stolen motorcycle with a fake license plate to carry out the attack. NIA has revealed that Happy Pasia supplied pistols to both Abhijot Singh and Rohan Masih (another arrested accused). The two were tasked with attacking a house in Chandigarh's Sector 10 but failed in their attempts on two occasions.
Following Abhijot's arrest, NIA also conducted a raid in Karnal, Haryana, to identify and track down more suspects possibly linked to this terror module.
This arrest marks a significant breakthrough in NIA's efforts to dismantle cross-border terrorism operations and highlights the persistent threat of foreign-sponsored terror plots in Punjab and northern India.
