ਦੇਬੀ ਮਖਸੂਸਪੁਰੀ ਅਸਲੀ ਨਾਮ ਗੁਰਦੇਵ ਸਿੰਘ ਗਿੱਲ ਹੈ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਜਨਮ 10 ਜੂਨ 1966 ਨੂੰ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਹੁਸ਼ਿਆਰਪੁਰ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਦੇ ਪਿੰਡ ਮਖਸੂਸਪੁਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ। ਦੇਬੀ ਨੂੰ 20 ਸਾਲ ਦੀ ਉਮਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣਾ ਬ੍ਰੇਕ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਕੁਲਦੀਪ ਮਾਣਕ ਲਈ ਲਿਖਣਾ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕੀਤਾ। ਉਸਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਸਰਦੂਲ ਸਿਕੰਦਰ, ਹੰਸ ਰਾਜ ਹੰਸ, ਮਨਮੋਹਨ ਵਾਰਿਸ ਅਤੇ ਕਮਲ ਹੀਰ ਵਰਗੇ ਕਲਾਕਾਰਾਂ ਲਈ ਕਈ ਗੀਤ ਲਿਖੇ ...
