A Young girl has died in a horror crash in Truganina overnight that has also left a woman and young boy fighting for life in hospital.
Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are currently on the scene investigating.
The crash is believed to have happened after a Ford Territory slammed head-on into a Ford Focus while attempting to overtake a Honda SUV along Hopkins Road about midnight.
A man and woman with two children were travelling in the Ford Focus at the time of the crash.
One of the children, a 10-year-old girl, died at the scene while the female driver and a young boy were taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
A male passenger in the Focus was also taken to Hospital with serious injuries.
The 41-year-old male driver of the Ford Territory from Rockbank was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The force of the crash sent the vehicles involved flying off the road, with debris sprayed more than 50 metres.
The mangled wrecks were this morning examined by police as their investigation continues.
Five people inside the Honda SUV, which was also hit by the Territory, were not injured.
