Just 16 people were arrested among the hundreds of thousands to celebrate Melboune’s White Night festival.
Over three nights, a record-breaking crowd of 718,000 people got involved in the celebrations.
Hundreds of police were on high alert, guarding platforms at Flinders Street in expectation of trouble-making teens who didn’t show.
Officers searched pockets for weapons, and broke up fights started in full view of the mounted brigade.
However, just half the number of arrests were made compared to 2018, despite the festival running three times as long.
Lord Mayor Sally Capp said she was “absolutely delighted” with the behaviour of the crowds.
“We’re going to have an even more spectacular, a big winter festival (next year),” she said.
