Truck clips building in Sydney CBD crash

Three people have been hospitalised after a crash involving a 4WD and a van in Sydney’s CBD this afternoon.

Emergency crews were called to the corner of Elizabeth and Goulburn Streets after the driver of a Jeep 4WD allegedly ran a red light at the busy intersection just before 4.30pm.

Police will allege the Jeep then t-boned a van which caused the 4WD to career off the road and into the side of a corner cafe.

The driver of the 4WD was arrested after an alleged scuffle after the accident.

The arrested driver, the van driver and a passenger in the van were all taken to St Vincents Hospital with one person seriously injured.

All lanes are open but traffic in the area remains heavy and buses are delayed by up to 20 minutes.
