A “distressed” three-year-old girl was allegedly left locked in a car while her carer sat in a Sydney club late at night.

Police released the young girl from an unregistered Ford SUV parked across from the Bankstown Sports Club, on Greenfield Parade, after reports of her crying inside about 1am last night.

The girl’s female carer was found inside the club and arrested. The girl was uninjured.

The 32-year-old has been charged with leaving a child in motor vehicle causing emotional distress and using an unregistered and uninsured motor vehicle.

A warrant relating to a domestic wounding from 2015 was also executed.

The woman, from the ACT, was refused bail and will appear at Parramatta Bail Court today.
