Police believe a fire that broke out in a western Sydney industrial yard overnight may have been deliberately lit.

Emergency services raced to the industrial complex on Castlereagh Road in Penrith about 9.20am, following reports that a blaze had erupted on the property.

A team of firefighters from Fire & Rescue NSW attended and extinguished the blaze.

Officers from Nepean Police Area Command established a crime scene at the yard, with initial inquiries suggesting the fire may have been deliberately lit.

No one was injured in the blaze and the yard only sustained minor damage.

Detectives are now urging anyone who has information on the fire to come forward.
