Funding Announcements

Elections in Victoria provides a huge boost for the Australian Sikh Games 2019. Both main political parties in Victoria announced the similar grants for the Australian Sikh Games 2019. $50,000 financial assistance from the City of Casey, which is already injected in the way of using the sporting facilities of the council. The Andrews Labor Government has announced a $100,000 events package to assist with the staging of the 32nd Annual Australian Sikh Games. The Liberals announced a little more than Labour, the leader of the opposition Matthew Guy MP had announced the grant of $155,000. Both the parties are competing against each other as the elections are knocking on the doors. Both political parties will try hard to win the elections but Sikh Games will be boosted financially, regardless who comes into the power. The efforts of the organising committee of Sikh Games in Melbourne need to be appreciated as this funding is first of its kind in the history of Sikh Games. The president of the organising committee of Sikh Games Melbourne also appeals to the community to come forward and donate for the games via their website.

Questions around Kabaddi final

Based on what happened during the final match of kabaddi in Sydney 2018 Sikh Games, kabaddi organisers are answerable to the community and also towards the fans of the game. The president of the organising committee of Sikh games Melbourne Mr Dalvinder Garcha told Radio Haanji that CLUBS from the both Kabaddi Federations of Australia are on board and they are part of the organising committee and we believe that we will deliver our best and the fans of the Kabaddi won’t be disappointed again. He also agreed, when asked whether the kabaddi organisers must deliver their best in upcoming Sikh games to make sure people love this game in the future. We are hopeful that we will see the final match of Kabaddi in the 2019 Sikh Games as we are expecting the high level of politicians will be attending the event and won’t be disappointed.

Accommodation and Transport

Major hotels in the area will be connected with the shuttle bus service to the different venues of the games. Transport arrangements have been confirmed with the courtesy of Sandhu transports. The committee is also working hard to provide more options for transport the spectators from different locations and talks are underway.

With all the arrangement and announcements from the council and political parties, Melbourne is looking confident to raise the bar. Radio Haanji will bring the series of stories about the 2019 Sikh Games to make sure we provide the best information to our community.
