Former Married at First Sight bride Tracey Jewel has revealed she filed for bankruptcy in a Perth court today.

The troubled reality star has been in a court battle with her ex-boyfriend, Patrick Kedemos, after failing to repay a $20,000 business loan given to her last year.

In June the 37-year-old was ordered by a court to pay 6 percent interest and legal fees on top of the loan.

Jewel had previously offered to repay Mr Kedemos the loan through a payment plan of $250 a month.

Previously citing ongoing mental health problems, Jewel at the time said if her ex-partner would not accept a payment plan then she would have no option but to file for bankruptcy.

She told Perth Magistrate’s Court today she had officially lodged for bankruptcy, which would take several weeks to be processed.

“He wouldn’t enter a debt agreement that was offered to him, I’ve offered him multiple payment plans,” Jewel told 9News.

I’m going into bankruptcy because of the sole reason he won’t accept a payment plan.

“I just want this all over with, I want to move on with my life.”

The means enquiry has been adjourned until November.
