A Perth teen Instagram model has been sentenced after defrauding 20 people out of thousands of dollars.

Over the past year, Hannah Valentine sold invalid tickets to Perth social events on Facebook or Gumtree.

She also took money for tickets but never sent them to those who purchased them, collecting more than $9000 through her scheme.

Valentine’s lawyer told the judge she lost friends, her boyfriend and her job as a beauty therapist.

However, the judge told the 19-year-old they were serious offences and she needed to be punished.

She was convicted of 53 charges relating to fraud and handed 240 hours of community service.

The Instagrammer has shut down all her social media accounts and is now pursuing a nursing career.
