A woman was forced to run for her life moments before a cargo train slammed into her car in Perth’s south this morning.
Emergency services were called to North Lake Road in Bibra Lake after another car reportedly crashed into the rear of the woman’s car, pushing it into the tracks into the path of an oncoming train just before 7am.
It was literally centimetres from hitting the train and the lady was shaking like a leaf,” witness Neil Halford Smith told 9News.
The driver, aged in her 40s, was the only person inside and managed to escape the crashed vehicle before the cargo train collided with it.
She was taken to Fiona Stanley Hospital and treated for shock.
The incident caused road closures in both directions on North lake Road between Bibra Drive and Berrigan Drive.
