An arrest warrant has been issued after a woman fell to her death from an apartment block in inner-Sydney last night.
Police confirmed she fell from the fifth floor of the Zetland apartment building and another woman is now being hunted over her death.
Emergency services were called to Rose Valley Way about 8.45pm after the woman was found on a footpath at the rear of an 11-storey apartment building with significant injuries.
The woman, who is yet to be formally identified, died at the scene despite police attempts to revive her.
A fence near where the woman’s body was found was heavily damaged this morning.
Forensic police have also been seen examining the balcony of a fifth-floor unit after earlier placing the area into lockdown.
Early this afternoon, police said a warrant had been issued for the arrest of Zixi Wang, also known as Jessie.
The 29-year-old was last seen in a vehicle described as a white Mercedes, with the NSW registration CZG81Q.
Anybody who sees her is urged not to approach her, but to contact police immediately on Triple Zero.
Police say they hope Ms Wang will hand herself in.
This morning, residents of the apartment block told 9News they heard a woman screaming before the body was found.
“Just screaming. It sounded like someone young, a female,” one resident said.
Another said her friend who was visiting heard the commotion.
“She literally said it sounded like someone is dying in there, just screaming. It sounded like someone young or a female,” she said.
“She said it sounded like someone being murdered.”
Police were initially called after concerned residents heard all the noise.
